DESIGN A BOX TO THINK OUT OFThis project involved the design of a cube featuring the ideaologies of Mr. Fred Rogers. I decided to create a storybook that illustrated one of his famous quotes; “Forgiveness is a strange thing. It can sometimes be easier to forgive our enemies than our friends. It can be hardest of all to forgive those we love. The key to forgiveness is being able to accept what has happened and let it go.”

TYPE AS IDENTITYWe were challenged with designing a stationary package that utelized one single typeface. I was able to explore the expressive qualities of type variations within one typeface (Bauhaus Std) and develop a sensitivity for shape, proportion, weight, balance, color, and composition

TRADITIONAL ART AS DESIGNSince traditional art is among my other interests, I enjoy taking certain works and incorporating them into graphic design for merchandise and other deliverables. I find the transition from traditional to more modern modes of expression make each work of art a new experience.

DESIGNING FOR SOCIAL MEDIAMy internships frequently task me with designing campaigns for social media and web advertisements. These projects require me to work within each company’s specified brand while also bringing a new and exciting style to draw in additional traffic. Though it can sometimes be difficult, staying on brand is always an excellent learning experience.

BUILDING A BOOKThe design for this book was inspired by my work in college and serves as a form of portfolio. We were asked to explore the various ways in which information can be “read” and understood through the variation of form and content.
