The college has received the

“Best Private Engineering College 2013” in the country from ISTE New Delhi

during 43rd

ISTE National Annual Convention on19th December 2013.

“Best Academic Institute of the year 2013” from the Association of Scientists,

Developers and Faculties (ASDF) during ASDF Global Award 2013 at

Pondicherry on 30th

December.

The college achieved 91.8 overall pass percentage during April 2013

examinations conducted by Anna University. It has produced 52 Ranks in the

same examinations.

I do hope that the Digest would be of immense value to industries and they would

come forward to utilize this in their activities and also establish continuous contact with the

institute. The college has several centres of different bodies namely CISCO Academy, ICT

Academy; CII etc. It has various cells for facilitating activities of students.

Department of chemical Engineering has organized training course on ‘Introduction to

Renewable Energy’ during 23rd

to 30th

December 2013. The training course conducted by

ECOTECH, RZ – 271/19, Tughlakabad Extension, Delhi – 110019.

C, C++ training program was conducted for II CSE & IT students for 15 days by CMC

Academy, Chennai.

Department of Civil Engineering has organized 15 days training course on

“STADDPRO” for III year students conducted by KKM SOFTWARE, Chennai.

Department of Civil Engineering conducted a training program for II year students on

“Auto CAD” by BIM Global Solutions, Chennai form 23rd

December to 31st December.

XI. CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

1. FDP on Instructional Design and Delivery Systems

The ISTE chapter of Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, Melmaruvathur organized a

Faculty Development Programme on “Instructional design and delivery systems” during 9th

to

December 2013. Dr.S. Basil Gnanappa, Executive Secretary, ISTE, New Delhi, was the

Chief Guest for the inaugural function. Dr.S.Mohan, Director, NITTTR (Chennai) was the chief

guest for the valedictory function. 43 faculty members of Adhiparasakthi Engineering College

attended the FDP.

2. National Workshop on R&D Issues and Challenges

The ISTE Chapter of Adhiparasakthi Engineering College, Melmaruvathur, in association

with ICI, IEI, IETE, organized a National Workshop on “R&D Issues and Challenges” on 20th

and

21st November 2013. Dr.V.Murugesan, Chairman, ISTE was the chief guest for the inaugural

function. Mr.Sivakumar, CEO, ICT Academy of Tamilnadu was the chief guest for the valedictory

function.

3. FDP on Android and its Application

Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted a 5 days’ workshop on

“Android and its Application” during 13.11.2013 to 20.11.2013 conducted by Talent Sprint,

Chennai. Around 20 Faculty members of CSE and IT made active participation in the workshop.

Certificates were distributed by Mr.P. Balaji, Talent Sprint, Chennai.

4. FDP on Cloud Infrastructure and Service

Department of Information Technology conducted a FDP on “Cloud infrastructure and

Service” from 25.11.2013 to 29.11.2013 by ICT Academy of Tamilnadu, in association with

EMC2, Bangalore. 40 Faculty members from various colleges attended this FDP.

5. FDP on Strength of Materials

Department of Civil Engineering conducted a FDP on “Strength of Materials” during

December 16-25, 2013. 25 Faculty members from various colleges attended this FDP.

Dr.R.Senthil, Director, Building Technology Centre, Anna University was the chief guest for

the Inaugural function.

6. Workshop on Project Management

Department of Information Technology conducted a workshop on “Project Management”

from 16.12.2013 to 17.12.2013 by ICT academy of Tamilnadu. 25 Faculty members from

various departments attended this workshop

XII. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF OUR BELOVED CORRESPONDENT

The birthday of the Dynamic Correspondent was celebrated on 14-12-13 in the Main Block

Auditorium. The function was graced with the august presence of the benevolent Correspondent,

Principal, Director, Vice Principal, AO, Teaching and Non-teaching fraternity and the Students.

As a part of the birthday celebration, many social service activities were conducted. The

activities included distributing black boards, fans, RO plants, books and notes to schools,

planting of saplings, etc. On the whole, the function turned out to be a memorable one.

2. The Best Private Engineering College– 2013 in the Country Awarded by ISTE

The College received the Best Private Engineering College 2013 in the Country Award from

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi. The presentation of the Award was

made during the Inaugural Function of the 43rd

Annual Convention of ISTE on 19th December,

2013 at Tatyasaheb Kore Institute of Engineering and Technology, Warananagar, Dist. Kolhapur

(Maharashtra).

3. Best Academic Institute of the Year 2013 – 3rd ASDF Global Awards

The Principal, Director and Professors of Adhiparasakthi Engineering College received the Best

Academic Institute Award 2013 from Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Puducherry,

His Excellency Shri. Virendra Kataria, in the presence of Shri.P. Rajavelu, Honourable Minister

for Tourism and Social Welfare, Union Territory of Puducherry and Shri.T. Thiyagarajan,

Honourable Minister for Education and Electricity, Union Territory of Puducherry in the award

ceremony held at Puducherry on 30th December 2013.

4. Best Administrator Award for the Year 2013 – 3rd ASDF Global Awards

The Principal received the Best Administrator Award for the Year 2013 from Lieutenant

Governor of Union Territory of Puducherry, His Excellency Shri. Virendra Kataria, in the
