Page 2: Progress of contents page

In my contents page I wanted to use a lot of images to attract audiences to the articles as they’ll notice the images before they notice the typography. I also stuck to my colour scheme to create brand identity.

I added headings listing the different types of articles that are going to be included in the magazine. I also added subheadings listing the different artists the articles are going to be on. Near the bottom I added a subscription deal as it’s a typical convention seen in contents pages. N ear the top I added an Editorial where I gave my opinion on the issue of the magazine.

In my final draft of my content page I made the image of the main band bigger then the rest to catch the audiences attention. I also chose a pose where they would be looking at the editorial as most people don’t read the editorial but if the main band is looking at it then it will catch their attention. I blurred out the background of the image (of the boy in the green jacket) using selective focus as it showed items such as a heater which made it look less professional. I also made the background black and white (selective colouring) so that the artist would stand out more. I changed the image of the young boy band as I thought they didn’t go with the genre , they looked more like an R&B band plus they looked too young to be a believable established band.

Continued...I also added an image of the cover in the editorial so that reader can relate back to it. I changed the image of the artist I called ‘Lilly’ because I thought that the previous image hid her face so the audience would not recognise her therefore they wouldn't be immediately attracted to the article. I also manipulated the image of the girl band by putting colours into their hair so that they looked more rock.

Rejected image for contents page

I reject this image because the band looked too young plus they didn't look like a rock band.

I dint use this image because the lighting was too dark making the artist hard to see.

I rejected this image because the artist was cut off to much.

I rejected this photo because the image came out too blurry, plus I couldn’t see the artists face.

This image was rejected because his feet where cut off.
