My typical consumer• This is Jovan. He is a black British teenager of African origin. He cares very much

about his credibility and is very well-liked by his close knit friends and wider associates. He is loud and immature when around his friends but achieved good grades at school. He likes to think of himself as attractive and cares very much about his appearance spending hundreds of pounds on designer clothing. He also spends 6 days a week training in his local gym trying to improve his physique to attract women.

• His favourite artists are Giggs, Krept & Konan and 67 and more. (some of these artists are referenced in my product making him a perfect example of a consumer of my product). He attends, primarily, underground, small venue events for semi-reknown rappers and he drinks a profound amount of alcohol during the events.

• Jovan’s favourite song at the moment is RedruM reverse – 67 which is a song that talks about violence and street cred – an environment of which he is constantly submerged in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVQFilmqa7k It is the attitude and presence represented in the song of which is synonymous with the connotations of my magazine therefore my product would strongly appeal to Jovan.

COVER ATTRACTIONSMy masthead would help to attract my audience as the name delineates the grime/hip-hop genre

My right-aligned text features artists of which my typical consumer/audience would know of and follow meaning that reading about these artists would be in their interest thus attracting them to my product.

Competitions has been a cliché convention for all genres of magazines for tens of years. I have decided to add a competition in my product – winning a day in OVO STUDIOS TORONTO (a reknown production studio in Canada. As my typical consumer has identified that OVO is a brand which they like (a label of which hip-hop mogul Drake is a part of) they are more likely to be attracted to my product in order to win a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience

CONTENTS PAGE ATTRACTIONSI decided to use a controversial pull quote from popular grime artist’s 67 including an expletive. I chose to use swearing in my magazine as swearing is a fundemental in the vast majority of grime/hip-hop music meaning that it fits in well and isn’t out of place. I used a pull-quote which suggests that the article is based off of an interview rather than a plain report and is therefore more appealing to my audience.

I made sure that the vast majority of my articles were about re-known artists in the specific genre/s I was basing my magazine around (grime/hip-hop). This maximized the commerciality of my magazine and thus would result in higher margins and increased audience retention. This was taken into account knowing my typical teenage reader (my main demographic) would have a much shorter attention span than a middle age counter-part.
