We thank team Qimpro for giving us an opportunity to do such an interesting project and survey the canteens within our campus , Banasthali vidyapith.
We visited many canteens namely:Shanu’s, fun n frolics, eats ,spicy bite, etc.
So, the results are;
5S (methodology)
5S is the name of a workplace organization method that uses a list off 5 Japanese words: “seiri” , “seiton” , “seiso” , “seiketsu” , “shitsuke”.
When translated into English , those five Japanese words can be classified as: “sort” , “straighten” , “shine” , “standardize”, “sustain”.
SEIRI (sort)
Remove unnecessary items and dispose them of properly. Make work easier by eliminating obstacles. Reduce chance of being disturbed with unnecessary items. Prevent accumulation of unnecessary items. Evaluate necessary items with regard to cost or other factors.
SEITON (straighten)
Prevent waste and loss of time. Ensure first come first served basis. Make work flow smooth and easy. Make it easy to find and pickup necessary items. Arrange all necessary items in order.
SEISO (shine)
Clean your workplace completely. Use cleaning as inspection. Prevent machinery and equipment deterioration. Keep workplace safe easy to work. Can be translated as sweep.
SEIKETSU (standardize)
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness. Maintain high standard of housekeeping and workplaceorganization at all time. Maintain everything in order and maintain itsstandard. Everything in its right place.
CONCLUSION:
After completing this project we realized that if we follow 5s rules in our day to day life then we can: Save time; Manage things properly; maintain hygiene, increase efficiency, cleanliness, etc.
In consideration to respective canteens we conclude that if our canteen is maintained and arranged properly then definitely we could earn more profit and win hearts of many costumers .
For eg.: parking area, chairs etc should be well arranged; dustbins should be used properly, food should be prepared using gloves.
In short, health and happiness of the customer should be taken care of.
