Pareto charts are a type of bar chart in which the horizontal axis presents categories of interest rather than a continuous scale.

This tool is based on the idea that majority of defects are caused by few defective items which classify the quantity problem into the “vital few” and “trival many”. (80-20 rule)

A cumulative percentage line helps you judge the added contribution of each category.

Pareto charts can help to focus on improvement efforts on areas where the largest gains can be made.

The Pareto diagram is a graphical overview of the process problems, in ranking order of the most frequent, down to the least frequent, in descending order from left to right.

For finding reasons behind bunking of classes , we surveyed 140 students of our class and we have used the same figures for constructing our pareto diagram and we came to know several causes which are as follows.. Identification of problems

This are the causes which cause 80% of the problem. Laziness / Mood Illness / bad health No interest in subjectImproper way of teachingHectic schedule

LAZINESS: Students are generally reluctant to attend the classes due to sleepiness, variations in their mood and tiredness.

IMPROPER WAY OF TEACHING: Students do not find method of teaching influential.

ILLNESS: Students who are regular and sincere generally bunk their classes due to illness.

NO INTEREST IN THE SUBJECT: Students have lack of interest in subject or if they do not find the subject interesting.

HECTIC SCHEDULE :Students bunk classes due to their hectic schedule, they face many pressures of test assignments, coaching etc.

We learned technical concepts about PARETO CHART

While doing survey , we overcome some challenges we faced

It also help in developing team spirit and cooperation

As students , realized that bunking of classes is usually done due to silly reasons and it can be avoided

We learnt time management from those students who are regular and since.
