Get your team ready for one amazing weekend filled with sports, beer, music, BBQ‛s, prizes and glorious moments of triumph and defeat! Hometown Heroes is your ultimate sports weekend: it brings together businesses, sports teams, and public service organizations to participate in a fun yet competitive tri-sport tournament with a portion of the proceeds helping to support KidSport! This year‛s event is taking place in North Bay, Ontario from July 12-14, 2013. Teams from across Northern Ontario will compete for the ultimate prize, the soon to be prestigious Hometown Heroes Championship Trophy. This unreal weekend consists of teams competing in three different sports with a softball tournament being held on the Friday, a ball hockey tournament on the Saturday and to finish it off a golf tournament on championship Sunday (get the red golf shirts ready).

There will be a championship trophy handed out to each of the individual sport tournament winners

and points for all three sports will be tabulated to determine which team will get the honour of hoisting the Hometown Hero Championship Trophy, as the overall tournament champions. There will also be a ton of charity event contests for people to win awesome prizes as well as some sweet award handouts like the famous Danny Heatley All-star Award for the ball hockey team champions or the Bill Buckner Award for the event‛s top misplay! To sum it up, this will be the best weekend of your life (except for maybe your wedding or the birth of your first child, but that‛s up for debate). You will get to compete with friends, family and coworkers and show off your skills in three great summer sports. Plus, a portion of the proceeds goes towards KidSport: a charity whose mission is to give all children regardless of circumstance, the opportunity to play sports! So, to summarize, this tourney offers you a chance to play your favourite sports and help out kids at the same time, there really is nothing better than that! Oh wait there is, how about cold beer, BBQ‛s, food, music and prizes on top of that? Now that‛s winning!

The tournament will be capped at 24 teams and slots will be filling quickly, so be sure to register your team of 10-15 people as soon as possible! For business owners, the event is a great way to increase brand awareness, improve company image, and reward your employees for their hard work; we encourage this, so businesses that pay a portion or all of their team‛s entry fees will receive recognition as a tournament sponsor and will be named as a contributor to the KidSport fund! If you‛re a public service organization, you‛ll have an opportunity to show that you‛re the top force in Northern Ontario! If you‛re a sports team, you can showcase your squad‛s all-star lineup! Either way you‛ll be having an unreal weekend while helping to support a great cause! Now that‛s winning.
