Recent Conclusions• NWPCC/Forum – the region has surplus energy and
capacity for a number of years (w.r.t. a minimum adequacy standard)
• NWPCC 5th Plan – region should secure options to be able to begin constructing new resources… in order to minimize the likelihood of high-cost futures
• BPA – “many individual utilities are looking at near-term deficits and consequently are considering or making power supply acquisitions”
• PNUCC – “indicates a need for power…to over 5,000 MWa in ten years”
