Thelate Dan Lacey was a president ofRing 50 (1999-2000) who inspiredothers - especially newcomers tomagic - to hone their skills. Thecontest provides an opportunity torecognize the exceptional magicskills of our members. The contestwas started in 2003 to honor thedeceased magician

The contest is open to all paidup Ring 50 members. If you wantto compete in the contest contactArnie Fuoco, 703-521-6286 oremail: [email protected] candidates will performa magic act lasting no longer thaneight minutes and will be judgedby a panel of four judges.Contestants will be graded onOriginality (technical, timing,flashes), Presentation (volunteermanagement, confidence, eyecontact), Performance Skills(introduction, patter, speech), andEntertainment (effect strength,entertainment value, routinestrength). The winner will receivea rotating trophy and a spot toperform at the 2012 Ring 50Magi-Whirl Gala show.

Also at the May meeting theelection of Ring 50 Officers willbe conducted. If you are interested

Thanks to Wayne Allen for awonderful lecture last meeting. Ifyou were not there you missed agood one! It is obvious from thelast meeting that we are stillstruggling with the hotel problem.Bear with us as we are stillworking on it. I'm pretty sure wewill have Wayne Houchin as alecturer for August 3, 2011. Hedeveloped a lot of the effects CrissAngel used on "Mindfreak", most

The April meeting of the Counts of Conjuringwas held in the Holiday Hotel Dining room.However the Chief Wizard, Theo Rushin, was ableto continue with a great session for the youths.

Dont forget to encourage a youth to attend theRing 50 MYI. The youth meeting starts at 6:00 pm

at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria. The Youth Ringis open for children ages 7-17. Please let TheoRushin, Chief Wizard for the youth group, know ifyou are bringing any youths so that we can bebetter prepared for them.
