Joplin, MO Rotarians Reach OutThe following is a letter from thePresident of the Rotary Club of Joplin, Missouri:

Thank you so much for reachingout to the Joplin community as therecovery process begins. We havebeen forever changed by this event

but we refuse to let the storm defineus. As we look ahead, this area welove so much is looking to rebuildthe 8,000 homes and businesseslost. Friends, families, andRotarians are putting their livesback together piece by piece. Wehave been overwhelmed withsupport from Rotarians from allover the world asking how they canhelp.

The absolute devastation caused

by the tornado has brought muchnational media attention. It hasallowed the nation to hear theamazing stories of courage andsurvival. However, we know thatwhen the media attention leaves iswhen our work will truly begin.Rotarians will be an integral part of the rebuilding process. This workwill be challenging and will takeyears to complete but we believethat our community will return evenstronger.The Joplin Rotary Club and

Daybreak Rotary have beenworking together to raise funds toassist families and organizations intheir efforts to get their lives back tonormal. Any financial assistanceyou can provide will be greatlyappreciated. Through an advisorycouncil between our Joplin Rotaryclubs, the funds will be distributedwhere there is a need and 100percent will be used locally. If youwould like to help, please send your tax-deductible donation to thefollowing:
