New threat’s for EU-memberstates
• Nota Bene:
• Governments (+ EU) are in the lead for opposing local, regional, national and international threats.
• Beware of seeing airports-threats as only local, while airports act globally and while they are prepared to oppose known threats.
• New terrorist threats exist, but no one knows when they appear and what they are.
13
Challenges for civil protection
• How to understand that the unforeseen can happen, but to accept not to know when
• How to solve local problems (threats) locally, and airports-problems ( part of transportsystem) globally.
• How not to handle threats as separated events, but as a “common security(and safety)-process”.
• How to work together in this as public and private in partnership, even in sharing and exchange information, and legislation
• How to keep things simple and transparant (rather riskbased than 100 % coverage)
14
SUMMARY
• Sorry, for not giving new threats, but
• speak with the private sector: not incidentally but on a structural base
• realise that Schiphol-airport like to work together and is ready for sharing information & knowledge vice versa

THANK YOU
