St. Jude Parish Memorial Giving Opportunities
Updated July 2020
“Sacred art is true and beautiful when its form corresponds to its particular vocation:
evoking and glorifying, in faith and adoration, the transcendent mystery of God.”
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) para. 2502
We are building something beautiful for God.
Will you join us in this great endeavor?
Dear Parish Family,
The response of the parishioners to the interior and exterior renovations of the church has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic. It is truly an honor to be a part of such a generous and committed parish.
I cannot wait until you see the stunning beauty of the new exterior of the church. The changes are simple yet transforming and will complement the elegant renovations already made to the church interior.
When we look upon the great cathedrals of Europe, like St. Peter’s in Rome or Notre Dame in Paris, we can easily forget that they were built by donations, both large and small, from the people who would worship there. Our renovation goals may not be quite as grand as these magnificent structures, but our intent is ultimately the same, which is to build a welcoming, reverent, sacred, and beautiful place to offer our prayers and to worship God.
I invite you to share in these worthy goals. For that reason we are offering an array of sponsorship options, both large and small. We want everyone in our parish family to feel like they can participate in this important work. Together, we can build something beautiful for God and for our children.
Monsignor Francis W. Beach
Pastor, St. Jude Parish, Chalfont
You may choose to sponsor simply as a gift from your family to the parish, or you may choose to memorialize a loved one or a special event. Some reasons for a memorial gift might include:
Remembering a deceased loved one
Celebrating a wedding or a wedding anniversary
Giving a gift in gratitude
Honoring someone on a special birthday: birth, 50th, 80th
In recognition of your thoughtful generosity, your memorial will be perpetually remembered on a permanent display in the Church Narthex.
On behalf of both the parish family and future generations, I thank you in advance for your participation in this Memorial Giving endeavor.
God bless you.
Monsignor Francis W. Beach
Mass of Rededication of the renovated Sanctuary, Oct. 28, 2018
Msgr. Beach, pastor, celebrant; Msgr. McCoy, pastor emeritus, &
Fr. Jeffrey Rott, parochial vicar, concelebrants
In this sacred space, Christ Himself comes to be with His people in the Holy Eucharist, the Source and Summit of our Faith. The goal of our renovations has been to dramatically beautify the Sanctuary area to enhance the experience of the faithful during worship and to give glory to God. The entire Sanctuary was moved forward and the Sanctuary wall, or reredos, redesigned in the Romanesque Style in European Beechwood and polished crème porcelain. In the center arch, rising 18 feet, hangs our original crucifix, restored and resized proportionate to the new space. Mosaic angels kneel in adoration facing the new tabernacle and crucifix. The remainder of the wall, extending from the arches to the ceiling, has been covered with fieldstone, repeating the theme from the original church. The altar and ambo were refurbished, and the Sanctuary floor has been covered in beautiful crème porcelain tiles.

“Beauty is the arrowhead of evangelization.” Bishop Robert Barron
“The liturgy is, before everything else, the joyous gathering of those who are to meet the risen Lord and to enter with him into the bridal chamber. And it is this joy of expectation and this expectation of joy that are expressed in singing and ritual...
“Beauty is never 'necessary,' 'functional,' or 'useful.' And when, expecting someone whom we love, we put a beautiful tablecloth on the table and decorate it with candles and flowers, we do all this not out of necessity, but out of love. And the Church is love, expectation, and joy.”
Alexander Schmemann, For the Life of the World: Sacraments and Orthodoxy
