guidelines:

rehearsal calendar and to be eligible for participation in all classes (following the

SMCMS Eligibility Standards in the school handbook). If there are failing grades

grades at the end of the 3rd Quarter, roles may be reassigned and participation will be

evaluated.

By signing this form, you commit to and are required to be at all rehearsals for which you are

scheduled and the performances. It is your responsibility to plan ahead to make sure you will

have no obligations that would require you to miss any rehearsal or performance. Should a

conflict arise which prevents you from attending any part of a rehearsal or a performance,

whether athletic event, family obligation, etc., your parent must notify the Director via written

email for approval. Unless and until approval is granted, the absence will be unexcused and

casting reassignments may be made. Students will be allowed a maximum of 3 – excused

absences. If an unscheduled need to be absent arises (such as bereavement or illness), the

Director will determine the consequence for missing rehearsal, which may include casting

reassignment.

You may obtain approval for an excused absence by emailing Kathleen McCurdy at

[email protected] and Hayden Kraus at [email protected]. This is the

only way to obtain approval for an excused absence. You are also welcome to contact either with

ZFAB Student Art Contest Winter 2020:

“Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things

with great love.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta

Zephyrs Fine Arts Boosters invite all SMCS K-12 students to participate in the Winter Student Art

Contest. The theme is “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great

love”. We ask that students take inspiration from the St. Teresa of Calcutta quote and create their

work based on acts of love they have either participated in or witnessed. Ideas can come from

scripture or events in their lives that have moved them closer to feeling God’s love for us.

Ideas:

• Hugging a friend when they are sad

• St. Veronica wiping Jesus’ face on the way to Calvary

• Sitting next to someone who is lonely

• Jesus spending time with the rejected (tax collectors)

• Helping your parents without being asked

• Jesus showing compassion to the suffering

• Spending time with someone who is sick

• The widow Tabitha making clothes for the poor (Acts 9:36)

One winner per category (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12) will receive a $100 Scrip gift card of their choice.

Scrip may coincide with businesses supporting art programs. Selected pieces will be featured in

the Jane Bergstrom Fine Arts Education Center as well as in local parishes.

• Work needs to be 2-D, unframed, and no greater than 16 x 20 inches. Medium is open to

artists choice.

• Submitted work may be used in ZFAB materials and retained through the end of the 2019 -

2020 school year. Some work may be displayed in the parishes for Catholic Schools Week

January 26-February 1, 2020.

• Submissions must be accompanied with a completed submission form (attached) for

consideration to school offices by 3:00 p.m. on January 20.

Questions: [email protected] or 920-722-7796 x123
