Introduction Core Course 3 continues to expand on the speaking and listening skills acquired in Core Courses 1 and 2. Students in this level are introduced to a wider range of vocabulary and longer key expressions. They continue to acquire language through practice and repetition. Additionally, reading and writing are integrated into the curriculum and students are expected to have a basic knowledge of reading and writing. Students continue to learn phonics through the first two months of the course and then develop their reading skills further with phonics stories starting from the third month.

How To Use This Guide

Lesson Overview lists the basic instruction and goal of

each section. Blue text indicates the instructions from the textbook.

Appendix 4: Homework Overview

Students complete their homework online. Each story has

eight assignments. The teacher evaluates the students’ recorded homework on the website and gives an evaluation for each assignment. Students mark the result from the teacher on the homework page of their textbook. Students

also have homework for Phonics and the Phonics Story. The teacher may assign one of three evaluations: Excellent

Good, and Try Again. Excellent shows highly accurate and above average achievement. Good shows average achievement. Try Again is reserved for student recordings

that are significantly below average, and the student will complete the assignment again.
