are an important part of this movement and when we come together, we make a bold

statement: Together we are stronger. Together, we will create a world free of MS.

Where does the money go?

The New Jersey Metro Chapter works to improve the quality of life for over 11,000 people living

with MS in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean,

Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren county and raise funds for critical MS research.

IN THIS ISSUE: $20: pays for one hour of home health care.

$300 supports a person with MS for up to 15

hours of necessary care.

$100: helps pay for one wellness class (yoga,

tai chi or aquatics). $1,000 supports a 10

week semester.

$250: (per month) supports the Chapter’s

network of MS self-help groups; the groups

provide opportunities for people with MS to

connect and empower themselves.

$500: provides special transportation and a

day out for 5 nursing home residents (to

participate in the Nursing Home Luncheon).

2015 Research Facts

$4,797,229 was invested by the Society

for research in our local service area.

$1,710,000 of that funding was from the

NJ Metro Chapter! (Congrats on your

hard work!)

LARGEST TEAM AWARD: Falk’s Walkers, Captain Rich Falk (105 members) This year, Team Falk’s Walkers had an impressive 105 members walking to end MS forever. Friends,

family, and coworkers gathered at Veterans Park in Hamilton to join Captain Rich Falk for his 16th year

at Walk MS!

TEAM CHAMPION AWARD: Motley Crew, Captain Nicole Eiszner Congratulations to Team Motley Crew for being this year’s top fundraising team! Captain Nicole Eiszner

led her to team in fundraising $70,187! Motley Crew reaches impressive fundraising levels by asking for

support from all team members’ family, friends, and coworkers. In addition to using team member

networks, Nicole hosts fundraising events throughout the year. This year Nicole and her teammates

organized a Pro Wrestling Fundraiser! Ticket sales from this fundraiser helped Motley Crew reach their

final fundraising total. Thank you Nicole, and team Motley Crew, for your incredible fundraising efforts!

MOST TEAM SPIRIT AWARD: All Hands on Deck, Captain Kristin Decker Year 5 for Kristin Decker and her team has been quite impressive! With their biggest fundraising year

yet, Team All Hands on Deck raised almost $23,000! Kristin and her team didn’t just fundraise with

friends, family and coworkers, they hosted multiple fundraising events! Their team spirit on event day

continues to bring smiles to many. Kristin didn’t stop there though. She is also part of our Walk MS

Community Engagement Committee. She helped build the experience on event day by making

connections in the local Jersey City community and bringing many businesses out for our participants.
