Solution to change OSN3500 subrack to OSN7500 subrack

XXXX is OSN3500 in MSP ring; now need to change to OSN7500, below are procedure

4f MSP ring and 2f MSP ring both can use this procedure

1 Export script of OSN3500

Step01: Do the upload of OSN3500 NE which is going to be changed to OSN7500

Configuration ---> NE Configuration Data Management

Selects the related NE and do the upload

Step02: Search SDH trails

Service---> SDH trail ---> Search for SDH trail

Use default value do the search, after search finished, click next

Click next

Click finish.

Step03: Record all Alarms

Fault > Browse Current Alarm

Select all alarms and save all alarms to one file in the pop up window.

Step04: Record all optical power values from all optical ports on OSN3500

Performance ---> Browse SDH Performance ---> Current Performance Data

Select the NE XXXX

Data source: Gauge

Performance Event type: Received Optical Power and Transmitted Optical Power

Query and save it to the excel file.

Step05: Export script

Administration---> Back up/Restore NMS Data ---> Import/Export Script file

Step06: Select Networkwide Configuration fileas the script file type

Step07: Create folder, you can change the folder name

Step08: Select the related NE and apply it.

Step09: Re-do the script export for whole Optical subnet and save it

You can use this script to restore the lived network data to the lab server. And then you can use lab

server restore the changed data to the new equipment. So you will save your operation time on site.

2 Freeze network, change OSN3500 script to OSN7500 script

1. Send scripts to HQ, HQ will take about 1~2 days to finish the change.

2. Send the board list of OSN3500 subrack and new OSN7500 subrack to R&D, board slot can be changed;

3.NEID should be different;.

4. Dont suggest changing the configuration on operated site.

5. Customer can create the pass through service on backbone, but it cant be restored by OSN7500 script,

it should be restored manually by adding cross connection on the operated site.

Jumper Function Description

J18 To enable the battery 12: If jumper bits (positions) 1 and 2 are capped, the database and

clock are cleared.23: If ju mper bi ts (positions) 2 and 3 are capped, the battery is

enabled.

J11 To set the running state of the

board

Jumper J11 is a group of two-pin jumpers located in five rows. The

jumper in the left-most row is reserved and does not need to be set. In

the case of the jumpers in the r ight four rows, the value of a jumper bit

is defined as follows:

If a jumper bit is not capped, the value is 0.

If a jumper bit is capped, the value is 1.

The jumper bit values are queued from left to r ight and from the higher

bit to the lower bit, and form a four-bit b inary number. For detai ls, refer

0b0101 The software is in the BIOS state. The SCC does not work even though the NE software

exists . The IP address of the parameter area, however, is not changed, which is for querying.

0b0110 The software enters the exhibit ion mode.

0b1100 Erases the NE software, includ ing the patches.

Step02: Connect power cable to OSN7500 temporary; remember to connect the protection GND;

5 In U2000, import script, restore configuration

Step01: Import the site 75XXXX script to U2000 according to below picture

Select NE Configuration file;

Select Import,

Select the related folder,

Select the related NE file and then click Apply

Click ok

Step02: Move 75XXXX to the subnet which include XXXX;

Step03: Checking cross connections in XXXX and 75XXXX,

You can copy cross connections to table to compare them, they should be same.

Step04: Restore clock, Ethernet port parameters, bounding relationship, overhead bytes;

Query the configurations in XXXX and then configure the same value in 75XXXX

Clock source Priority, c lock subnet configuration (protection s tatus, configured quality)

6 In U2000, download the data to equipment OSN7500

You should change preconfigured NE to configured NE, switch NE user and then download data from

U2000 to equipment

Step01: Power down OSN3500, remove cables and fibers

Step02: Remove subrack

Step02: Install OSN7500 subrack, connect power cables and protection GND;

Step03: Power on OSN7500;

Step04: Add boards; connect cables and fibers on site

14 Optical power values check

Compare previously recorded optical power values from OSN3500 with current ones on OSN7500.

15 Checking alarms

Check alarms.

16 SDH trail search, check the names, quantity of trails, discrete trails

Step01: Trail searching

All trails terminated on OSN7500 (OSN3500 before) directly have to be renamed manually.

17 Deal with the problems

18 Roll back in case of problem

Only 1 hour can be used in case of problem after subrack change, if problem cant be fixed in one hour, you

should roll back to XXXX.

Step01: Force switch on both sides of site XXXX

For example, site YYYY: you should force switch slot11 on YYYY and slot8 on ZZZZ

Step02: Delete the 4f MSP subnet that has 75XXXX

You should delete the 4f MSP subnet from NM

Service --> SDH protection subnet --> Manage SDH protection subnet

Ensure 75XXXX is in this subnet and then click close

And then delete the subnet from the NM

Step03: Delete all fibers connect to 75XXXX from NM layer

Select all fibers, and then delete fiber/cable from NMS

Step04: Power down OSN7500, remove power cables, other cables, fibers

Step05: Uninstall OSN7500 subrack.

Step06: Install OSN3500 subrack, connect power cables, protection GND cable;

Step07: Power on OSN3500, add boards, fibers and other cables

Step08: Same time, restore fibers in U2000 that connect to XXXX

And then use the fiber table in chapter 3.4 to restore the connections

Step09: Search protection subnet, new 4f MSP protection subnet should has XXXX
