Blessing of High School Graduates Before you were even formed, God knew you. While in your Mother's womb, God named you. At your birth, God's breath filled you with life. Today we celebrate what you have become at this moment in time. And so we pray, God of our beginnings, we thank you for the gifts of these graduates; their excitement, their awesome wonder and curiosity, their open speech and encouraging words. Their contributions have blessed and challenged us, and we have become a richer and more diverse community because of them. As they step forward into the world that awaits, comfort their fears with the full knowledge of your divine presence. Strengthen their resolve to walk in the footsteps of Jesus as modern-day disciples in a world that needs their spirit. Guide their feet as they move through life, protecting them from the pitfalls of darkness while they help to lead future generations into the warmth and promise of your light. We ask this blessing upon each of them, + in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. AMEN!

Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of Fr. Val. Through him, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help Fr. Val to be strong in his vocation. Set his soul on fire with love for your people. Grant him the wisdom, understanding, and strength he needs to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire him with the vision of your Kingdom. Give him the words he needs to spread the Gospel. Allow him to experience joy in his ministry. Help him to become an instruments of your divine grace. CHUNCH REPORT The 2018 MSU school year has ended and so has this year’s Chunch program of free Thursday lunches at Resurrection. Over the last two semesters 3,246 free meals were served. This wonderful ministry happened only because many people generously gave of their time, talent and treasure. We wish to thank all those who donated money, shopped for groceries, cooked and served the food and drinks, donated salads and desserts, decorated the tables, washed the dishes, pots and pans, set up and took down the tables and vacuumed the floors and rugs. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, We will start up again next Fall. If you would like to volunteer or have questions about the program, please contact Gina Albini at 586-6972 or [email protected]

Corpus Christi Sunday

Corpus Christi (Body and Blood of Christ) is a Eucharistic solemnity, or better, the solemn

commemoration of the institution of that sacrament. It is, moreover, the Church's official act of homage and gratitude to Christ, who by instituting the Holy Eucharist gave to the Church her greatest treasure. Holy Thursday, assuredly, marks the anniversary of the institution, but the commemoration of the Lord's passion that very night suppresses the rejoicing proper to the occasion. Today's observance, therefore, accents the joyous aspect of Holy Thursday.

Details of our Guatemalan trip will be coming soon!

Thank you to all for your support.

Resurrection University Parish’s Catholic Creation Care team will meet on the 3rd Sunday’s of the month at 7:00pm, in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Room. Inspired by Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’, the team focuses on projects related to parish sustainability and environmental justice, knowing that ecological degradation, such as industrial pollution and climate change disproportionately impacts the poor and the vulnerable in our society. Recent projects include installing recycling services on the church grounds. For more information or to join the group, contact Will Wright at (208)739-5836 or [email protected]. June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month - here are 10 Key Facts to harness brain plasticity & prolong brain health that come from the hundreds of scientific and medical studies analyzed to prepare the book The SharpBrains Guide to Brain Fitness: How to Improve Brain Health and Performance at Any Age: 1. Genes do not determine the fate of our brains (not even the infamous APOE4). Thanks to lifelong neuroplasticity, our lifestyles are as important as our genes-if not even more important- in determining how our brains grow and our minds evolve. 2. There is more than one “It” in “Use It or Lose It” — our performance depends on a variety of brain functions and cognitive skills, not just one (be it “attention” or “memory” or any other). 3. Physical exercise and increased fitness promote brain functioning through a variety of mechanisms, such as increased brain volume, blood supply and growth hormone levels. In particular, cardiovascular exercise seems to bring the greatest brain benefits. 4. Mental stimulation strengthens the connections between neurons (synapses), improving neuron survival and cognitive functioning and building your cognitive reserve–which helps your brain better cope with normal aging and Alzheimer’s pathology in the long-term. 5. The only leisure activity that has been associated with reduced cognitive function is watching television. What could explain that? Well, routine, passive activities do not challenge the brain. Keeping up the challenge requires going to the next level of difficulty, trying something new, generating new thoughts and strategies and lessons learned. 6. The Mediterranean Diet, supplemented with olive oil and nuts, is associated with decreased risk of cognitive decline. 7. Moderate doses of caffeine increase alertness but there is no clear sustained lifetime health benefit (or harm). 8. Taking “brain supplements” does not seem to boost cognitive function or reduce risks of cognitive decline or dementia, unless directed to address an identified deficiency. 9. Chronic stress reduces and can even inhibit neurogenesis. Memory and general mental flexibility are impaired by chronic stress…so it’s good to see the growing evidence that meditation and biofeedback can successfully teach users to self-regulate physiological stress. 10. No size fits all…so, to improve and prolong brain function, it’s critical to understand and address individual needs and starting point. What counts in terms of neuroplasticity and brain health is not reading this article–or any other–but practicing healthy behaviors every day. Please revisit the fact above that really grabbed your attention–ideally one that you may have overlooked and therefore may bring most “bang for the buck” now–and make a decision to try something new this summer.

The College of Consultors for the Diocese of Helena has elected Msgr. Kevin O'Neill as Administrator of the Diocese of Helena. Please pray for him as we wait for Pope Francis to name a successor to Bishop George Leo Thomas as the next Bishop of the Diocese of Helena.

The young adult group will be doing a Bible study on Thursday’s at 7pm at the Bozeman Catholic Community Center located at 210 S. Grand Ave. Please join us! All young adults are welcome!!

Faith Formation K—5 You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have good family fun and celebrate your faith! Harness your children’s natural energy and enthusiasm, and let them see that being Catholic isn’t only about being quiet in church. Summertime activities are even better when you share them with extended family or friends—after all, faith grows best when it is shared.

6

Plant a St Francis Garden. It’s always fun to plant and tend a garden; this one is themed to honor St. Francis. You can build the garden around an outdoor statue using colorful flowers. This is a good way to get outside and away from our “screens”. This can also become a special place for family members to gather and pray.

Summertime Family Activities

Middle and High School Faith Formation

Greetings in Christ, For 8 years it has been an incredible honor and blessing to have worked within this parish and the Bozeman Catholic Community as the middle school and high school youth minister. So it is with both sadness and joy that I tell you that at the end of June I will be stepping away from my position as youth ministry coordinator. I want to thank you all for your support of all the youth ministry endeavors. Please know that Bozeman is a place that I will hold in my heart. As of yet I am still not sure what the future holds for me, but I am trusting that God has asked me to leave because he has big plans for both this community and for me. Please pray for me and rest assured that I will be praying for you.

Peace in Christ, Kelly Summer Happenings The Diocese of Helena offers some seriously excellent summer programming for kids to take a part in. Legendary Lodge is a fantastic way to spend a week in the outdoors learning about faith, praying, and playing. Offered for kids in 5th thru 12th grade. Spots are filling up fast! There is financial help available, but make sure to get on it ASAP! For more information on summer camping please visit www.LegendaryLodge.org Son Light Raffle Every year the Diocese of Helena to help raise funds for parish youth ministry and Legendary Lodge raffles off a vehicle. Tickets are $25 dollars apiece and $5 of every ticket sold at Holy Rosary Parish comes back to the parish for youth minis-try. We have used this money to help cover scholarships for young people participating in events like Jr. High Rally, CYC Convention, NCYC (the National Catholic Youth Conference), Legendary Lodge, and our Awakening Retreats. This money has been so great in helping offset costs of these events for our community, and you could win a new car! This year we are raffling off a Toyota Tundra, tickets are available at the parish office so please stop by and consider buying one. Also since we have all summer to sell these tickets it would be nice to utilize our tourist season and perhaps sell to them. However this requires your help, so if your family has benefited from youth ministry in our parish or diocese please consider looking at your calendar and finding one weekend this summer where you and your family can sell tickets after Mass.

ALL payments for the All Are Welcome Campaign should be placed in an envelope labeled All Our Welcome so they are not mixed up with the ordinary collection. Envelopes are available at our welcome desk and in the office.

The word “tithe” means a tenth or 10%. This is what we are asked to give back to God in gratitude for our many blessings. For us Catholics, a good rule of thumb would be: Give 5% to the parish; (4 % to the general, 1% Annual Catholic Appeal) and the remaining 5 % can be distributed between local and international charities i;e, Catholic Relief Services, Gallatin Valley Food Bank, Guatemala Mission, Family Promise, St Vincent De Paul Society, etc. How would tithing look based on annual income?
