Historians use artefacts to find out information.

An artefact is something made by a human which has historical interest and gives us an insight 

into life in the past.

One source of information we have access to, is the decorated vases that the Greeks 

created. They have pictures on them which 

show things such as daily life and their beliefs.

Task: become a historia and look at the photos of the Greek vases and think about the following questions:

 ­ What does the picture show?

 ­ What does this tell us about life for the 

Ancient Greeks?

You can use the sheet provided to record what 

you see, draw a picture of the vase in your 

book then write what you see.
