CATECHISTS NEEDED!!!!! For 1st & 7th Grades

We are in desperate need of catechists for our religious education program. We need committed, dedicated indi-viduals that enjoy working with children of all ages. You must be willing to attend bi-monthly meetings, attend classes to become a Certified Catechist in the Diocese of Orlando and must be able to pass a fingerprint and back-ground check that is mandated by the Diocese. Please contact Fr. Bart, Linda Jones or Olga Miyar if you are interested in this very special ministry.

From the priest, deacons and staff of St. Jude We give thanks to our Lord for keeping our parish community and the Marion Oaks community safe. We continue to pray for all those affected by Hurricane Maria. God Bless you!

BLESSING of the ANIMALS at ST. JUDE

On Saturday October 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM, your pets will have an opportunity to receive the Lord’s blessing. Bring your dog, cat, bird, etc. outside the church area.

The Rosary Ministers Invitation

In October, the Church celebrates Our Lady of the Rosary, in veneration of Our Blessed Mother

Mary.

In 1917, during one of Our Lady of Fatima’s apparitions to three children of Portugal, she encouraged them to pray the rosary, offering prayers of petition for special graces to be bestowed by her Son, Jesus through her upon them. We will pray together at 6:00 pm Mon, Wed, Thru, & Fri, & before each mass on Tues at 5:30 pm each week. In her honor, the Rosary Ministers will be reciting the rosary before all masses during the month of October. We encourage you to join us, offering your own petitions to Our Lady. Come to experience the power of the Rosary prayed together as a community.

Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Mexico

“Let us all raise our prayers together to God so that he may welcome into his bosom those who have lost their lives and comfort the wounded, their families and all those affected. “ “We also ask for prayers for all the relief and personnel who are lending their help to all people affected.” Pope Francis

Please give the parish office a call to let us know if there is someone who is sick who would like a call or visit from Fr. Bart, a Deacon, or the Ministers to the Sick. Thanks

The Understanding Father

Jesus must have shocked the priests and elders when he said that prostitutes and tax collectors would enter the king-dom of God before them. After all, his listeners had spent their whole lives being faithful to the Law. But Jesus' point was not so much about final salvation as about our daily choices. Remember the parable about the two sons. The second son said what his father wanted to hear, with no intention of doing it. The first was honest about not wanting to go to the vineyard, but then decided to do it anyway. I suspect the fa-ther of those men knew what each would or would not do. And whom do we want to imitate? Are we honest enough to look at our lives and repent of our hatred, our selfishness, or whatever keeps us in sin, and then to follow Jesus with our whole heart? We may not always like doing what God asks of us, but God is an understanding Father who can accept our weaknesses and forgive them when we are ready to return to

Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch
