their patches directly from the Council. We will send units a link to order
patches toward the end of the sale.
ACHIEVING YOUR UNIT’S GOAL
Fund your Scouting program entirely with popcorn!
Each Scout will work 5 storefront shifts (2 hours each)OR sell a minimum of $1,000 in popcorn.
Scouts can work additional storefront shifts, sell door-to-door, sell at their parents’ workplace, and online to friends and family.
The more Scouts sell, the bigger the prize they earn!Last year Scouts averaged $125/hour in sales.
MAKE YOUR PLAN
How do you build a plan to achieve your goal? Let’s say a Scout wants to sell $1,500 in popcorn.
1. Scouts work five 2-hour solo storefront shifts. Scouts average $125/hr. $1,250

HOLD AN EXCITING UNIT KICK-OFF
A great sale starts with a great kickoff!
Follow these simple steps to start your popcorn sale with a BANG and motivate
Scouts, parents and other volunteers.
• Plan ahead. Be sure to utilize the Unit Kick-Off agenda/presentation. A good kickoff should be under an hour.
• Emphasize WHY it is important to sell popcorn. Communicate the exciting Scouting program and how families can cover
all their annual expense with one sale. Trail’s End makes it easy to sell gourmet popcorn so Scouts can spend more time
having fun and less time selling popcorn.
• Show Scouts the tools available from Trail’s End. This includes their order forms, prize sheets, training videos and much

• Spend some time explaining the different ways to sell, key dates for the program and Show & Sell locations.
• Motivate Scouts to set goals for their sales and to pick an awesome prize! Trail’s End also offers a scholarship program

• Finish the evening with a memorable event, like throwing pies in the leaders’ faces or funny role-playing. A kick-off will be
exciting when Scouts are involved in the action!
