Monika Eggenberger of Spencerport was named to the dean’s list at north-eastern university for the spring 2016 semester. monika is majoring in physics.

To achieve the dean’s list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a Gpa of 3.5 or greater and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career.

in addition, eggenberger is a member of the uni-versity Honors program, which offers high caliber students the chance to further hone their stud-ies and interests, live in special interest on-campus housing, and participate in one or two honors courses each term. invitation into the honors program is highly competitive and students must maintain a high Gpa and strong com-mitment to campus leader-ship to remain a part.

Natalie Buck, a 2012 graduate of Spencerport High School, recently graduated summa cum laude from SunY Fredo-nia with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She has also accepted a position for the 2016-2017 school year as a third grade teacher in the greater rochester area.

Jane E. Mahoney, daughter of John and Tracy Mahoney of Spen-cerport, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at alfred university. Students must earn at least a 3.5 Gpa to qualify for dean’s list.

Bianca E. Barber, daughter of Corey Barber and Elizabeth Tantalo of Spencerport, received a bachelor of arts in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology from the College liberal arts & Sciences at alfred univer-sity on may 14. She is a graduate of Spencerport High School.

Sarah Donovan, of bergen, earned a fel-lowship from lycoming College. donovan, a senior majoring in history, was awarded a Joanne and ar-thur Haberberger Fellow-ship at the college’s annual Honors Convocation held in april. The Haberberger Fellowship is a $1,000 scholarship given annually to students who display exceptional research and scholarship.

donovan also earned the ada remley memo-rial Scholarship award for academic excellence and service to college and community, as well as the david library for the american revolution research Fellowship, given to an exceptional up-perclassman working on a capstone, honors thesis or substantial research paper on any aspect of american history between 1700 and 1800.

Megan N. Szczerba, daughter of Maryann Griffin and John Szc-zerba of Spencerport, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at alfred university. Stu-dents must earn at least a 3.5 Gpa to qualify for dean’s list.

The Moving WallReturns To Spencerport

The Moving Wall, a smaller version of The Vietnam Vet-erans Memorial in Washington, D.C., returns to Spen-cerport June 16-20 at The Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post 330, 691 Trimmer Road.The Moving Wall first visited Spencerport in July of 2000. In the photo at right is The Vietnam Veteran’s Color Guard, taken during the visit in 2000.Thousands attended the visit in 2000 and The Ameri-can Legion Post looks to hosting thousands once again. Donations are being accepted by The American Legion Post to help with the $15,000 cost to host The Moving Wall. The photo is a file photo taken by Walt Horylev.
