The institution, • The School of Architecture La Salle is part of the Ramon Llull
University, Barcelona. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs with Master and PhD studies. Since its creation in 1998, the school has been committed to foster pedagogic innovation, particularly with regard to the application of ICT to renew architectural pedagogy. Examples of this compromise are the series of pedagogic research projects co-funded by the European Union which the School has led in the last years: [email protected], (2003 to 2006), OIKODOMOS (2007-2011) as well as the participation as partner in the SHARE network (2010-2013).
• The research group ARC participates in the project as developer of the digital platform which will support the activities of the network. Previously, ARC had developed the digital platform for the OIKODOMOS Virtual Campus.

CURR research agenda
Six areas of research: • 1, Residential segregation • To what extent are the different social groups
segregated? What are the causes and the effects of segregation? How to measure the extent and the different dimensions?
• 2, Urban reconstruction • How the urban planning and market forces
changed the physical and social structure of the deteriorated parts of post socialist Budapest? Who wins and who looses?
Social Dimensions of Urban Sustainability
Subnetwork meeting 1
CURR research agenda
• 3, Gentrification and the “Retro tourists area” in Budapest inner city
• The emergence of the NTE (night-time economy) and tourism has the strongest impact on the neighbourhood that causes inevitable conflicts in the middle of the historic downtown.
• 4, Large Housing Estates and Gated Community
• How the typical socialist urban developments survived and how the post socialist forms of elite-segregation emerged?
Subnetwork meeting 1
• 5, Suburbanization • As new residents moving into the suburban
settlements it has changed the spatial and social structure of these communities . To what extent are the growing socio-spatial inequalities (segregation ) reflected in explicit conflicts?
• 6, Families in mortgage crisis • From the beginning of this decade a high
proportion of families had bought flat or house with mortgage loans. Nowadays many of them are in crisis situation. Our research examines both the macro- and micro-level effects of the crisis from the social-spatial point of view.
