Parish Office
For the health and safety of clergy, staff and parishioners, the parish office is not open at this
time. However, the USPS mail is being delivered, and telephone calls continue to be received.
Envelopes
Some parishioners have asked how they can
continue to tithe to the church now that
there’s no “collection basket.” You may mail
checks to the church (see addresses below).
Our parish now has the capacity to accept
donations online. (see next pages for info!)
Your generosity is appreciated. At the same
time, we do understand that many people face
economic hardship during this difficult pan-
demic. Our prayers are with them, and for all
who are struggling through this time.
Mass Schedule
For the time being, we are discontinuing the
printing the Mass schedule in the bulletin.
The last Mass intentions were satisfied on
Sunday, March 22. All other Masses will be
rescheduled at another date. We will inform
the parish when that takes place.
Our new Mass schedule will take place on
the weekend of May 23rd & May 24th.
NEW MASS SCHEDULE TO BEGIN THIS WEEKEND
May 23rd & Sunday, May 24th
The new Mass schedule is in place this weekend and going forward. Weekend Masses are
proposed to begin in June. More information will come about the number of attendees that
will be permitted, and how this will take place, so please continue to check our parish
webpage (grouping329.org), and the diocese webpage (diopitt.org)

Since Mass is still being offered at every church, transportation should not be an issue. But
if someone needs help getting to Mass, the grouping will look for creative solutions. Perhaps
a transportation ministry can begin, where parishioners volunteer to take the elderly to a
nearby church. Perhaps the grouping can employ a nearby taxi service to drive people to
Mass. The grouping wants to do whatever it can to assist those who need help getting to Mass.
Six weeks to go . . .
for the merger of our parishes into a
new reality. The Ascension of Jesus into
heaven was a new reality for the
disciples of Jesus. They needed to adjust
to not having Jesus physically present to
them. They felt somewhat lost and confused;
they needed to move forward following
His calling. Like those disciples, between
His Ascension and the gift of his Spirit
on Pentecost, we too continue to
patiently wait, and pray that the Holy
Spirit will descend upon us to transform
us into energetic followers of Jesus.
With Mary, our Blessed Mother, and all the
angels and saints watching over us, let us
pray that our new parish will be a new
reality that is alive and vibrant, with
effective ministries and enduring faith.
Prayer in our six churches
We have prayerfully decided to open each Church building for prayer one day per week.
This schedule is for the month of May only and will begin Monday May 18. Memorial
Day will be observed, so St Alphonsus will not be opened on Memorial Day (May 25).

Update on Confession Schedule
For the time being, our grouping is offering Confessions twice per week on Saturdays:
12pm12:30pm in the parking lot of St. Columbkille
2pm2:45pm in the parking lot of Our Lady of Lourdes
These will bedrive up confessions. Individuals making their confession should do so from
their car. The priest will be outside the car. Please wear a mask if you have one, and be six
feet from the priest. Just as privacy is respected in a regularconfessional by having only the
priest and the individual present, so also with these drive up confessions, it is hoped that, at
the time of confession, the onlyindividual in the car would be the one making their confession.

Watch Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist on FORMED
Although the Eucharist appears to be simple bread and wine, it is actually the
"source and summit" of the Christian life. The Mystery of the Eucharist explores
the truth and beauty of Christ's real
presence in the Eucharist, from its
origins in Sacred Scripture, to its
profound role in the life of the Church
and her members. It is the crescendo
of the entire story of salvation.

Online Giving is now active in our parish!
You have many options to give. Go to https://grouping329.org/donate to set up online giving.
It’s convenient—you don’t have to go through the trouble of writing a check, sticking it in an envelope,
writing an amount on the envelope and remembering to bring it with you to church.
It’s easy—if you select the “recurring payment” option, you don’t have to remember every week or every month
to make a donation. Once you set up the amount and frequency, the donations will be made automatically.
It’s consistent—if you miss church for any reason, you’re still able to support the parish.
It’s easier to process—our volunteers who count money will have an easier time because online payments
are processed electronically.
It gives you more control—if you create a profile, you’ll be able to log in any time and see your giving his-
tory. You can change the amount and frequency of your giving any time.
It’s secure—Vanco, our payment processor, maintains the highest level of PCI-compliance to ensure the
security of donations.
+ Readings for the Seventh Sunday of Easter, May 24, 2020 +
While we cannot be present together for Sunday Mass, we can prayerfully enter into the
Liturgy through the readings of the Word.
Reading 1 Acts 1:1214
After Jesus had been taken up to heaven
the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the
mount called Olivet,
which is near Jerusalem,
a sabbath day’s journey away.
When they entered the city they went to the
upper room where they were staying,
Peter and John and James and Andrew,
Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew,
James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and
Judas son of James.
All these devoted themselves with one accord
to prayer, together with some women,
and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers
The Word of the Lord…….R. Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 27
R. I believe that I shall see the good things of
the Lord in the land of the living.
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life’s refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?
R.I believe that I shall see the good things of
the Lord in the land of the living.
One thing I ask of the LORD;
this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD
and contemplate his temple.
R.I believe that I shall see the good things of
the Lord in the land of the living.

Responsorial Psalm cont’d
Hear, O Lord, the sound of my call;
have pity on me, and answer me.
Of you my heart speaks; you my glance seeks.
R.I believe that I shall see the good things of the
Lord in the land of the living.

Reading 2 1 Peter 4:1316
Beloved:
Rejoice to the extent that you share in the
sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is
revealed you may also rejoice exultantly.
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed
are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests
upon you. But let no one among you be made to
suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as an
intriguer. But whoever is made to suffer as a
Christian should not be ashamed but glorify God
because of the name.
The Word of the Lord……....R. Thanks be to God.

Alleluia John 14:18
R.Alleluia, alleluia.
I will not leave you orphans, says the Lord.
I will come back to you, and your hearts will
rejoice.
R.Alleluia, alleluia.
+ Readings for the Seventh Sunday of Easter, May 24, 2020 +
While we cannot be present together for Sunday Mass, we can prayerfully enter into the
Liturgy through the readings of the Word.
Gospel John 17:111
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said,
“Father, the hour has come.
Give glory to your son, so that your son
may glorify you, just as you gave him au‐
thority over all people,
so that your son may give eternal life to all
you gave him.
Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true
God,
and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
I glorified you on earth by accomplishing
the work that you gave me to do.
Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the
glory that I had with you before the world
began.
“I revealed your name to those whom you
gave me out of the world.
They belonged to you, and you gave them
to me, and they have kept your word.

Gospel cont’d
Now they know that everything you gave me
is from you, because the words you gave to
me I have given to them,
and they accepted them and truly under‐
stood that I came from you,
and they have believed that you sent me.
I pray for them.
I do not pray for the world but for the ones
you have given me,
because they are yours, and everything of
mine is yours
and everything of yours is mine,
and I have been glorified in them.
And now I will no longer be in the world,
but they are in the world, while I am coming
to you.”

The Gospel of the Lord.
R. Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.
