This year will mark the seventh year of the HNS creation of the endowment for the Catholic H.S. and College Scholarships awarded to students
who are active members of our parish. Dedicated in honor of our late pastor, Fr. Domenic Mancini, last year’s students were Jessica Collins ($1,500), Scott Zanella ($750), and Natasha Yarowenko ($750). Applications for three scholarships are now being accepted from any H.S. senior who is planning to attend an accredited undergraduate program at a college, university, or educational institution, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in the fall of 2020, or a $750 scholarship for any student who is planning to or is currently attending a Catholic H.S. 31 CLUB: All parishioners are invited to join the "31 Club" as a way to pray for priestly vocations. Those who join, pledge to perform a spiritual act of their choosing for this intention (e.g., praying a rosary). This is done once a month, on the day of one's birth. Starting Dec. 8, there will be binders in the back of church for you to sign up. You may also sign up on the parish website.

Luke 9:2 states “And He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick.”
We are looking forward to revitalizing the HEALTH MINISTRY that was begun in some of our parishes. We are asking all of the nurses in our six parishes, and anyone who would be interested in helping, to come forth and help with the Ministry. Some of the outreach activities that we’d like to provide are: taking blood pressures before or after Masses in each church, visiting shut-ins, bringing occasional health speakers, visiting those hospitalized. If you are a nurse and can possibly help, please contact Sharon at 724-926-2984 or [email protected]. After the holidays, we would like to have an informal meeting of all interested volunteers.
We are His ministry “for we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field.” 1 Cor 3:9
Religious give thanks. Your gift to last week’s collection helps hundreds of religious communities meet pressing retirement needs while continuing to serve the People of God. Thank you for your generosity! Once again, the parishioners of St. Columbkille showed how generous we are. Your generosity toward the Thanksgiving dinner collection
allowed for “Thanksgiving Dinner Certificates” to be distributed. Also, we will be able to distribute “Christmas Dinner Certificates” with the funds. May you all have a truly blessed Christmas!
This year, since December 8 falls on a Sunday, The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be observed on Monday, December 9, and is not a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus and St. Columbkille at 8:00 a.m.
No time to bake? No problem! Join us on Sat., Dec. 14, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at St. Columbkille Parish Hall. Homemade holiday cookies, $10/box. You
pick from over 25 different varieties! Coffee and Doughnuts! Raffles! Holiday Music! Proceeds support West Hills Premiere Elite Cheerleading Bid for Nationals.

In order to continue with the progress towards uniformity of the parishes in Grouping 329, there will be a slight change with the presentation of the gifts. The Altar Servers will escort down the main aisle those who present the gifts of bread and wine to the priest. Those who bring up the bread and wine are asked to wait for the Altar Servers before proceeding.
