Getting married

Your celebrant

Once you have confirmed your wedding ceremony with our Wedding Co-ordinator, we will assist you with arranging a celebrant who willconduct the ceremony. The celebrant will contact you to discuss the legal procedures as well as the ceremony content and your personalvows. If you have a preferred celebrant/pastor, please let us know and your wedding package will be tailored to suit your needs.

Legal requirements

To marry in Australia you must be over 18 years of age and the following documents will be required:

• Birth Certificate

• Valid 10 year Passport

• If divorced - Decree Absolute

• If widowed - Death Certificate of former spouse and previous Marriage Certificate

• If your name has been changed by deed poll, legal proof must be provided

• Notice of Intended Marriage - available from your Wedding Co-ordinator.

Please note, originals of all documents including Notice of Intended Marriage are required by your celebrant prior to the ceremony.

Absent friends and family

If there are members of your family or friends that cannot be with you on this special day letters, emails and faxes are welcomed and can bedelivered personally to you.

Ceremony locations

There are numerous locations both in the Cradle Mountain – Lake St. Clair National Park and at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge to haveyour wedding ceremony. To be married within the National Park a permit and visitor passes must be obtained prior to the ceremony.

Dove Lake

This iconic National Park location is a 20 minute drive from the Lodge. Allows for 40 guests in the car park and 15 guest in the Boat Shed.

Pencil Pine Falls

Stand beside the stunning Pencil Pine Falls. This short boardwalk is also wheelchair accessible. Allows for maximum of 10 guests.

King Billy Track

Be surrounded by age old temperate rainforest and ancient King Billy Pines. Allows for a maximum of 10 guests.

King Billy Suite

Surrounded by the picturesque bush land, the balcony of your luxury suite provides the perfect venue. Allows for a maximum of 10 guests.

Highland Restaurant

With views of the Lodge's surrounds and wildlife, the restaurant is perfect for a daytime ceremony. Allows for a maximum of 90 guests.

Devils Bar

An intimate ceremony with the wood fire blazing and views leading into the National Park. Allows for a maximum of 30 guests.

Cradle Room

With views over the Lodge pond, this room can be dressed as desired providing a private space for larger weddings. Allows for a maximumof 90 guests.

Reception venues

At Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge we can tailor a reception to the size and style of your wedding. Offering a variety of indoor receptionoptions from intimate tables for 2 to a grand reception. We will ensure that you leave this spectacular location with lifelong memories.

Highland Restaurant

The Highland Restaurant is available for a private lunchtime receptions between 12 noon and 3.30pm. A luncheon reception matches wellwith the wilderness surrounds and allows you to enjoy the spectacular Lodge views.

Hire cost: lunch exclusive use - $700 (minimum 20 guests), dinner exclusive use - quoted on application, subject to numbers.

Cradle Room

Located on the top floor of the Lodge, this private room boasts stunning views and can be themed to your wedding. Catering for up to 90guests for a cocktail reception or 60 guests for a banquet reception. It is fully-equipped with a sound system and microphone facilities.

Hire cost: exclusive lunch or evening use - $600 (minimum 10 guests).

Wine Cellar

Dine amongst renowned wines in the private and intimate Wine Cellar. Enjoy a degustation menu with wines to match each course.

Hire cost: evening exclusive use - $600 (minimum 6 and maximum 12 guests).

Pencil Pine Room

A private lunch or dinner reception with just your closest friends and family. This room overlooks the entrance of the National Park.

Hire cost: exclusive use - $300 (minimum 10 and maximum 20 guests).

Devils Bar

With direct access to the Guest Bar, the Devils Bar is perfect for an informal, intimate reception for up to 30 guests (standing only).

Hire cost: exclusive use - $600 (minimum 10 and maximum 30 guests).

Highland Restaurant

The Highland Restaurant offers a beautiful fine dining experience complete with a large open wood fireplace. With an assortment of menuchoices there is certainly something for everyone. Recognised as one of Tasmania’s premier dining experiences featuring the very best ofTasmanian foods and wines, the Highland Restaurant is where guests enjoy the mountain buffet breakfast and dinner. Bookings arenecessary for dinner and guests with special diet requirements should advise Reception 7 days prior to arrival. Picnic hamper services areavailable by arrangement.

The Cradle canapés are both visually appealing and delicious. Perfect for a cocktail party or pre dinner drinks, or an end of conference wind-up party. This premium menu of canapés feature outstanding, delicious Tasmanian delicacies. An outstanding selection of hot or cold Tasmanianinspired canapés, hand made by Chef Wulf and his team of chefs. King Billy Suite

The ultimate in luxury, featuring separate sleeping and living areas including double sided wood fire, king size bed and oversized bathroomwith spa. These suites have beautiful outlooks over the surrounding wilderness, including a large picture window from the bedroom. Outside,a large deck area includes a private hot tub. Guests are treated to a turn down service, complimentary fire side port and a different selectionof canapés or cheese plate each evening.

Spa Suite

Featuring a king sized beds with a soft goose-down duvet. Of course a log fire and a deep spa are also a big part of the attraction. Spa Suiteshave a private verandah with views looking onto the surrounding wilderness, making wildlife spotting all a part of the natural charm. Guestsare treated to a turn down service, complimentary fire side port and a different selection of canapés or cheese plate each evening.

Contemporary Spa Cabin

The cabins are located in natural bushland settings and are private and peaceful. Verandahs offer views through the treetops or directly intothe surrounding Myrtle forest. Featuring a modern interior with an efficient wood fire look gas heater to keep you warm and cozy through thenight.

Pencil Pine Cabin

The Pencil Pine Cabins are our standard room type. With close proximity to the Lodge, these cabins offer Lodge, lake or bushland views.Pencil Pine Cabins are warm and comfortable with a queen sized bed, day bed, efficient wood fire look gas heater and contemporary décor.

For your day

Flowers

Your bouquet and button hole are provided with a mix of native flowers. If you have a preferred style or colour of flowers please let us knowand we are more than happy to provide you with options. If you require additional buttonholes or bouquets for your bridal party or attendingguests, or perhaps to decorate your cabin or reception room, these can also be arranged and quoted on an individual basis.

Hair and make-up

The Lodge can provide contact details for local services and salons who can travel to Cradle Mountain and work in the comfort of your cabin.

Wedding cake

All wedding packages (excluding the tailored wedding package) include a cake for two with your choice of flavour however we will happilyprovide options for a larger cake. Cake styles can include your traditional royal iced cake, chocolate ganache icing or even iced cup cakes.Flavours of cakes include traditional fruit, chocolate mud, white chocolate mud, sponge or cheesecake. Dietary requirements and allergiescan be catered for when advised. For a personalised quote on a cake to suit your reception please ask your Wedding Co-ordinator.

Reception décor

Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference. If you would like to add a touch of decoration to your reception room we canarrange it for you. From candles and chair covers to floral table displays and silk roof draping. All quotes will be tailored to suit your needs.

Entertainment

Entertainment is available, however due to the close proximity of guest cabins to the main Lodge there are some noise restrictions. Guestsare welcome to provide their own music via a media player or CD’s. DJ services or acoustic performers can also be booked for the CradleRoom or lunch time receptions in the Highland Restaurant.

Photography

There are a number of local photographers who are happy to travel to the Cradle Mountain area and photograph your special day. Contactdetails can be provided by your Wedding Co-ordinator.

Waldheim Alpine Day Spa

The Waldheim Alpine Spa at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge reflects the natural purity and pristine beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness.Combining nature’s intelligence and the power of touch, our spa and massage therapies mirror the balanced beauty of Cradle Mountain. Private Bath

You and your partner can indulge and experience the nourishing, soothing or detoxifying effects of the Private Bath overlooking Tasmanianwilderness at its finest.

Private Sanctuary

Waldheim Alpine Spa has a dedicated therapeutic area known as The Sanctuary. This includes a steam room, sauna, large hot tub and coolplunge pool as well as a relaxation lounge. The benefits of combining hot and cold water therapies is an invigorating experience thatpromotes healthy blood flow and enhances circulation. This remedy has ancient origins and is held in high esteem by modern day healthprofessionals.

The Sanctuary is available for private use daily (bookings of 2 to 4 guests). A Deluxe Private Sanctuary is also available and includes a bottleof Tasmanian sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries, which can be enjoyed as you sit in the outdoor hot tub (pictured above) orsauna and soak away the stresses of everyday life.

To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend making advanced bookings prior to check in, as the Spa is incredibly popular. The Spaenvironment lends itself only to those 16 years of age and over and all prices and treatments are subject to change.

Lodge activities

Here at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge, we offer a varying activity schedule that you and your guests can join, alternatively we can offerprivate activities for your wedding party. Advance notice is required. These include guided walks or interpretive drive tours where you’llexplore the park and experience breathtaking and iconic views, get out amongst button grass plains or cool temperate rainforest.

Our guide can take you spotlighting for nocturnal animals where you’ll enjoy the wonders of the bush at night, all from the comfort of avehicle and possibly spot wombats, possums, pademelons and wallabies.If you’re really lucky a Tasmanian Devil. In summer, see CradleMountain from the unique perspective of a canoe.

Wine and cheese tasting

This fun and tasty afternoon session will have you full to the brim with the best of Tasmanian cheese and wine products. Accompanied by aprofessional host, you will also leave with a little more knowledge, as the history of Tasmania’s cheese and wine industries unfoldsthroughout the afternoon.

Horse riding

It doesn’t matter if you’re an advanced rider or a novice horseperson, these rides give you the chance to enjoy the spectacular mix of buttongrass plains and alpine forests and take in the view across the Speeler plains to Cradle Mountain. Group bookings are required in advance.

Quad bike rides

After an introduction and safety briefing on your quad bike you’re off along the track which winds up through ancient Myrtle and alpineeucalypt forest to the button grass plains at the top of the “Speeler Plateau”. The Spectacular views of Cradle Mountain, Barn Bluff, MountRoland, Western Bluff and Black Bluff are amazing. Perfect for a day of wet weather fun. Group bookings are required well in advance.

Helicopter flights

Departing by helicopter from Cradle Mountain Village, this 30 minute flight provides spectacular views over Fury Gorge – Australia’sdeepest Gorge, Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Crater Lake, Houndslow Heath, Barn Bluff, Mt Emmett, Lake Will, Waterfall Valley, theoriginal Weindorfers Chalet and the Overland Track. Experience the breathtaking views of Tasmania’s rare natural treasures and thestunning beauty of this ancient landscape. Minimum numbers apply. Flights are seasonal and subject to weather conditions.

Things to remember

Getting to Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge

Air connections: regular flights are available to Launceston with Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas. Flights to Devonport are available withQantas Link.

Self drive: car rental is available through all major car rental companies in airport and city locations. A downloadable fact sheet can be foundon our website cradlemountainlodge.com.au/getting_there.html

Transfers: scheduled flights landing at Devonport or Launceston can be met by our transfer service, providing direct transfers to and fromPeppers Cradle Mountain Lodge.

National Park entry

The National Park only allows a small number of vehicles into the park due to car parking limits. This is also restricted to certain times of theday and varies seasonally. A shuttle bus is also provided by the National Park which departs from the visitors centre located 2 km from theLodge. For larger wedding parties wishing to have a service at Dove Lake, we recommend you book a private coach to transport you andyour guests into the National Park. When the car park is full, entry will only be given to the shuttle buses and private coaches.

Wedding permits for the National Park

The Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park requires all proposed ceremonies within the park to have received prior approval. YourWedding Co-ordinator will assist you with this application process and can provide assistance when selecting a ceremony location.

Weather at Cradle Mountain

The weather in this alpine region is changeable, unpredictable and enjoyable when well prepared. Average maximum temperature is 18°degrees celsius (64° degrees fahrenheit) in summer and 6° degrees celsius (43° degrees fahrenheit) in winter.

Wet weather

Given the unpredictable climate a backup wet weather ceremony venue is required. For ceremonies with up to 30 guests, the Map Roomcan be closed for a private and intimate ceremony. Alternatively, the Cradle Room can comfortably seat up to 75 guests providing anexpansive view of the Lodges own dam. The Highland Restaurant can seat up to 90 guests, warmed by an open fire with beautiful views.

• Wedding date and preferred reception time and venue

• Estimated number of guests/attendees

• Confirmation for your booking will require a non-refundable $500 deposit.

Once your accommodation and wedding packages have been booked, the Celebrant will contact you to arrange your wedding vows. Apersonalised booking form will also be created for you to distribute to your guests with details on how to book accommodation and transferswith Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge. You will then be able to liaise directly with our Wedding Co-ordinator to arrange the finer details ofyour special day.

Wedding package terms and conditions

• Confirmation of accommodation (minimum of 2 nights) must be made prior to booking the wedding package

• Rates are subject to change depending on Government taxes and /or policies

• Rates are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and Goods and Services Tax (GST), currently 10%, is included

• Rates are subject to availability at time of booking and by confirming your booking you are not only guaranteeing your availability but alsoaccepting these rates and our applicable cancellation terms and conditions

• Non-refundable deposit of $500 is required for your wedding ceremony within 14 days of confirmation

• Final invoice will be sent 45 days prior to arrival, requiring all final details to be confirmed

• Final payment of balance is due for the entire wedding package, bookings and all inclusions no later than 31 days prior to arrival

• 75% payment is required for cancellations between 91 and 31 days prior to arrival

• Full payment is required for cancellations made within 31 days prior to arrival

• Rates valid until 31/12/16
