ESCALATORdesigner Basis Information

2.1 The Basic Structure of the Program

ESCALATORdesignerhastwomaincomponents:

Designer:Thisisthemainpartoftheprogram.Itincludestheuserinterfacethatenablesyoutoeditthepropertiesofyourelevatorcabin.Tochangedimensionvalues,justeditthecorrespondingpropertyinthePropertiesdockingwindow.

Allchangesareautomaticallyimplementedthroughouttheentiredatamodel.

IntheStand-aloneversionofESCALATORdesigner,directeditingofcomponents/dimensionsinthedrawingandeditingofthepre-definedsheetsarenotavailable.AllmodificationscanbemadeviatheESCALATORComponents/Propertiesdockingwindows.Thismakestheprojectdevelopmentmoreefficientandpreventstheuserfrommakingmistakes.

Database:ThespecificationsandgeometricaldataofescalatordesigncomponentsarestoredintheESCALATORdesignerdatabase.DigiParacontinuallyupdatesthisdatabasewiththelatestcomponentsanddata.

Aftertheprogramhasbeenstartedforthefirsttime,youwillseethatthetoolbarsaredisplayedontopofthemainprogramwindow.

ESCALATOR Wizard

TheEscalatorWizardhelpsyouselectastandardescalatordesignconfigurationandtodefinethebasicparametersofthenewescalatorproject.StartanewprojectbyclickingonFileandselectingNewEscalatorfromthemenu.ThisopenstheESCALATORWizard,whichprovidesastandardsetofescalatordesignconfigurations.

ThemainpurposeoftheEscalatorWizardistoselectastandardescalatorconfigurationasabasisforyourproject.Whenyouarestartingaprojectwithanewescalatorconfigurationthatyouhaveneverusedbefore,usetheEscalatorWizardtodefinetheescalatortypeandotherbasicparameters.(ThestandardversionofESCALATORdesignerdoesnotincludestandardspecificationsfortheproductsofspecificcompanies.)

TheescalatorcomponentsincludedintheprojectwhentheEscalatorWizardcloses,areautomaticallyreadfromthedutytables.Thisiswheretheproductdataforthespecificescalatorstypesarestored.

3.1 Escalator Wizard Dialog

1. Containsthecontrolsfortheselectionoftheescalatorcountandtheescalatorarrangement.

2. Thetreeviewcontrolprovidestheopportunitytoswitchbetweenthepropertiesofthemainescalatorcomponentswhichareshowninthepropertiesgridontherightsideofthedialog.

inthewizarddialogorbyselectingtheappropriatearrangementviathecorrespondingcombo-boxinthetopsectionofthedialog.

A maximum number of 4 escalator units per project are supported.

Youcanchangee.g.thefloorheightbyclickingontheFloor1 iteminthetreeviewandchangethecorrespondingFloor Heightpropertytoanyvaluee.g.

5500mm.ThiscanalsobedoneforthesecondfloorwhenselectingtheFloor2item.

Asmentionedintheintroduction,theescalatorsheetscannotbemodifiedinthestandaloneversionofESCALATORdesigner.Bydefault,twodifferentsheetsgetloadedwhencreatinganewproject.YoucanswitchbetweenthesetwosheetsviathesheetselectionintheProjecttoolbarorviathesheetsselectionintheSheetsmenu.

Drawing Translation

Thepredefinedmessagesshowninthedrawingsaretranslatedintotwolanguagesbydefault,GermanandEnglish.Ifyouwanttotranslatethesemessagesintoyourcountryspecificlanguage,youcandothisbyaddingyourtranslationviatheTranslationdialog.OpenthetranslationdialogviatheTranslationbuttonintheStandardtoolbarorviatheTranslationitemintheProjectmenu.

IntheTranslationdialog,youcanselectyourcountryspecificlanguageviatheDefault language for new records combobox.

SelecttherecordtobetranslatedandclickontheL_DrawingLanguageMessageTabbuttonafterwardstoaddanewtranslationrecordfortheselectedmessage.
