2016 臺灣文博會開展華人文創新世代2016 Creative Expo TaiwanOpens A New Cultural & Creative Era for Worldwide Chinese Communities

文化創意產業已是世界各國發展的主力,透過重新認識自我的文化,詮釋新世代的產業價值,唯有創意能讓世界各地不同的城市文化,以多元的形式展演出迷人的價值。2016 臺灣文博會以「品東風」為年度主題,汲取中西文化交流質變的精華,並導入創意思維轉換新意,將熟悉的創意元素和文化精神,刻劃成東方當代的生活語彙,引領華人美學邁向國際。

文化部長洪孟啟表示,今年文化部整合投入更多資源 2016 臺灣文博會,除延續去年「城市即展場,展場即生活」概念,更在三個場域華山 1914 文創園區、松山文創園區和花博公園爭艷館中,分別設置洞見新勢力展區、文創館與授權館,展現文化部對文創產業的輔導成效。

臺灣文博會以工藝、設計、授權為主題概念串聯三大文創展區,主題館由總策展人陳俊良及國際策展人桐山登士樹(日本)、Jimmy MacDonald(英國)、Morten Grøn(丹麥)共同策展,建構以「品東風」、「食日常」、「茶文化」、「倚生活」為概念的四個年度主題展,希冀呈現出當代世界設計趨勢潮流之生活風格。除了年度主題展之外,首度新增的「Talent 100」專區邀請 100 位來自全世界各地的創作新銳,包含 80 位國內新銳,以及其他來自 14 個國家的 20 位國際創作者一同參與,展現創意人文的新興魅力!展會使用 1,132 個攤位、超過 697 個品牌參展,總計 20 國參與,另邀 14 國國內外買家來台選品,包含德國 MONOQI、中國方所、泰國 ROOM Concept Store、Another Story 等,匯聚各國文創設計、觀覽時下文創商機。此外,提前開跑的「串聯好店」活動將首度集結文化部全臺所屬館場及展區周邊店家共 250 家參與,並推出電子集章活動邀請民眾一起抽大獎!

2016 臺灣文博會為本年度全臺最大的文創盛典,透過世代、場域和數位之延伸,串聯在地文化、科技新知、國際交流的眾多可能,為臺灣文創發掘潛在的未來方向,引領華人優質生活櫥窗,再現東方文化與創新思維的加乘力量,歡迎大眾一同來品東風!

Cultural creative industry has become the main development force for worldwide countries. It enables them to further understand their culture and to interpret the values of this new generation industry – only creativity can let variant cultures of worldwide cities to show their charming value in diverse ways.

Themed on "Savoring the Rich Eastern Culture", 2016 Creative Expo Taiwan has absorbed the essence of qualitative changes caused by the infusion of western and eastern cultures. It has also transformed ordinary creative elements and cultural spirits into daily life vocabulary of the eastern world by adding creative concepts and making new ideas. The Expo leads the aesthetics in the Chinese-speaking world to the world stage.

The Minister of Culture Hung Meng-Chi expressed that the Ministry of Culture had put more resources into 2016 Creative Expo Taiwan this year. This year, the Expo not only extends the "the city is the exhibition, the exhibition displays lifestyles" concept of last year, but also established "Rising Force", "Cultural and Creative Pavilion", and "Licensing Pavilion" at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Songshan Cultural & Creative Park, and Expo Dome of Taipei Expo Park to show the Ministry's performance in supporting the development of cultural creative industry.

This year, Creative Expo Taiwan has connected these three major exhibition areas themed on crafts, designs and licensing. The "Trends 2016 Pavilion" is co-planned by the chief curator Chen Jun-Liang and international curators including Toshiki Kiriyama (Japan), Jimmy MacDonald (U.K.) and Morten Grøn (Denmark). They have co-established four thematic expos including "Savoring the Rich Eastern Culture", "Food", "Tea" and "Chair" with an expectation to show the lifestyle of the world's contemporary design trend. Apart from the theme pavilion, the Expo has, for the first time, established the "Talent 100" zone and invited 100 worldwide cutting-edge creators – 80 from the nation and 20 from 14 other countries – to show the new charms of the creativity of humanity! Apart from 1,132 booths participated by 697 brands and 17 countries, the Expo has also invited buyers including MONOQI (Germany), FangSuo Commune (China), ROOM Concept Store (Thailand), Another Story (Thailand) and so on. In other words, the Expo has gathered worldwide business opportunity of contemporary cultural and creative products. Besides, the activity "CET Fringe Shops" participated by 250 surrounding stores and nationwide exhibition venues will have an early launch. An electronic stamp collection campaign will also be launched and all citizens are invited to join the lucky draw!

As the nation' biggest cultural creative event, 2016 Creative Expo Taiwan has, through extended generations, fields and digitization, connected local culture, new technolgy and opportunity of international exchanges. It has become a new direction for the growth of Taiwan's cultural creative industry, and a window that attracts Chinese speakers heading towards a quality life, showing the multiplied power of the Eastern culture and innovative concepts.

臺灣主題館具有五千年歷史的茶文化,講究飲水品質與地道茶藝。臺灣主題館由總策展人陳俊良策畫,以品東風為題,將深植常民生活的飲茶文化納入展覽,匯入當代人文思潮與風尚美學,打造西技東魂的新創茶想。其中,將展出以百種臺灣茶為主的時光隧道,宣揚臺灣在地的茶文化,搭配穿透式的空間廊道,邀大眾一同覓得品茶新觀點,用文創奠基茶茗的新未來。

Taiwan Theme PavilionFeatured with five thousand year history, the tea culture pays a great attention to the water quality and authentic art of tea. Planned by the Chief Curator Jun-Liang Chen, Taiwan Theme Pavilion is themed on Savoring the Rich Eastern Culture to bring the tea drinking culture in our ordinary life into the exhibition, to merge contemporary humanistic thoughts and fashion aesthetics, and to create innovative tea thinking featured with techniques of the west and spirit of the east. The time tunnel designed for hundreds of Taiwanese tea will also be exhibited to promote the tea culture of Taiwan. Together with the penetrating corridor, the Pavilion invites everyone to find a new perspective for tea drinking and to build a firm foundation for the future of tea culture with cultural creativity.

丹麥主題館丹麥設計於戰後因美觀且實用的產品而聲名鵲起,當時全世界的消費者都希望為住家或辦公室選購新穎的產品來彰顯和平年代來臨的新氣象。如今,丹麥設計已成為設計領域的代名詞,兼具極簡功能主義的創意產品,於全球文創經濟中脫穎而出。本屆臺灣文博會邀請Design Denmark ( 設計丹麥 ) 組織策畫國際主題館,以「Reflections 映像」為設定框架,並選出最具代表性的案例來呈現丹麥設計的過去、現在和未來,藉由美學、造型、功能、媒材、方法、核心價值等多方層面反映傳統及丹麥設計一脈相承的發展脈絡。

Denmark Theme Pavilion The beautiful and practical products have made Denmark designs renowned around the world after the war. At the time, all the consumers around the world all wished to purchase new and innovative products for their residence or office to show the arrival of a peaceful age. Today, Denmark design has become a pronoun of creative products featured with the spirit of simplicity in the field of design and stood out from the world's cultural and creative economy. This year, Creative Expo Taiwan has invited "Design Denmark"to plan Denmark theme pavilion. Structured on "Reflections", the Exhibition has selected the most representative works to present the past, present and future of Denmark designs. It also, through aesthetics, modeling, functions, medium, methods and core values, to show the connected development of traditional and Denmark designs.

日本主題館各國的風俗習慣皆會反映於飲食文化與使用道具,2014 年日本人的傳統飲食文化「和食」列入聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO)認定之無形文化遺產,而知名導演小津安二郎執導的〈東京物語〉描繪日本過往的儉樸生活、珍惜物資的模樣,和今日豐衣足食的時代形成強烈對比。2016 臺灣文博會邀請桐山登士樹以「日本的用餐時分」為題,引領大眾觀覽日本飲食文化與設計,並透過展覽探討現今社會狀態,進而激起反思與冀望,希冀為下個世代留存更多美好。

Japan Theme PavilionEvery country's customs can all be reflected in its food culture and tools. In 2014, Japanese people's traditional food culture "Japanese food" was recognized as an intangible cultural asset by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The movie "Tokyo Story" directed by the well-known director Ozu Yasujirō describes the past thrifty life in Japan. They way that people cherished all the resources has formed a strong comparison with today's good food and clothing. Creative Expo Taiwan has invited Toshiki Kiriyama to, through the exhibition themed on "The Dining Hours in Japan", lead the audience look at the Japanese food culture and design, discuss the status of today's society, and further arouse reflections and hopes in order to bring a beautiful future for the next generation.

享受英式下午茶的愜意步調Taking a Step Back, Enjoy a Cup of Tea the British Way

英國主題館過往西方人愛茶成癡,近代卻多以咖啡為主,除了便利性的差異,飛快的生活節奏更是主因。本次英國主題館策展人 Jimmy MacDonald 以茶為主題,推廣近五年來英國逐漸復甦泡茶文化之外,更透過精選的設計作品及經典品牌,以歷史悠久的匠人融合當代觀點,呈現充滿現代生活美學的英式廚房,也邀請大眾一同將放緩步伐,用英國人的方式好好的品味一杯茶的輕慢。

The UK Theme PavilionIn the past, westerners were fond of teas; in contemporary days, however, they mostly drink coffee. Apart from differences caused by the level of convenience, the fast rhythm of life can be considered as the main factor. The Curator of the United Kingdom Theme Pavilion Jimmy MacDonald has, themed on teas, promoted the country's awakening tea brewing culture and presented a British kitchen featured with modern life aesthetics through specially selected design works and brands, and the long-history artisan merged with contemporary perspectives. The exhibiton invites everyone to slow down the steps and enjoy a cup of tea like a British.

The Display of IndigenousWata Art was established in 2013. The name "Wata" is originated from the Amis word which means "wow" . It is a platform of marketing indigenous art work and handicrafts in order to promote Taiwanese indigenous art exhibition and product sales. With this platform, people can appreciate the diverse culture of Taiwan.

Authentic Taiwanese Traditional Arts

串起時代連結的藺編文化以地方居民組成的臺灣藺草學會,致力於保存藺編文化,並積極投入舉辦多元體驗活動推廣傳統藺編工藝。從 2006 年開始舉辦愛藺工藝獎,除了提升工藝師們的創作動力之外,也期望透過設計師與工藝師的跨域合作,為傳統藺編工藝注入創新能量。

The Triangle Rush Culture and HandicraftsTaiwan Yuan-Li Handiwork Association are consisted of local folks. It promotes and preserves the culture of Triangle Rush Handicrafts as well as to hold relevant events. Yuan-Li Lin Crafts Awards has been held since 2006 by the association. Not only to motivate creative energies, but with the collaboration between designers and artists, we hope that there is a promising future in Taiwan handicrafts industry.

專訪〈卡娜赫拉的小動物〉作者─カナヘイ (Kanahei)

只要時間許可,就持續的畫下去!擁有千萬用戶的 LINE 通訊軟體,為大眾開啟新興的圖像式互動通訊,更透過多樣化風格之貼圖拉近人與人之間的距離,間接創造各式風貌的角色魅力。畫風溫馨可愛的〈卡娜赫拉的小動物〉是廣受大眾喜愛的角色,其生動玩趣的表情總是能適時地傳達用戶的心情樣貌,近期更成為超商集點活動的火紅商品,更將於本屆臺灣文博會花博爭艷館展出!

用日常創意,創作童趣角色身為插畫家與漫畫家的カナヘイ (Kanahei) 自高中時期便開始創作,其所創作的角色多以溫暖柔和的配色搭配靈活細緻的線條,近年廣受歡迎的〈卡娜赫拉的小動物〉有著生動可愛的豐富表情,直至現今已推出到第十四版!提到貼圖表情的靈感來源,カナヘイ笑著說「最近有小孩之後,其實給我非常多的靈感。小孩常常會有一些表情,譬如說傻笑、可愛、憨憨的模樣或是平時所做傻事,都是我的靈感來源。」孩子們的喜怒哀樂帶給她無限的創作泉源,也傳遞大眾最真誠的心情寫照。

創作以外,作者的寫實生活同時作為妻子、創作者與母親的カナヘイ,令人好奇該如何兼顧這三種角色呢?カナヘイ認為「其實自己並沒有刻意的去劃分各角色的時間,覺得是自然的融入角色其中,當然也要感謝周遭的人,能使她安心的創作。」日本蔚為動漫王國,カナヘイ也提到自己深受漫畫的影響,「其實小時候就常常看漫畫,像是鳥山明《七龍珠》、尾田榮一郎《ONE PIECE》及岸本齊史《火影忍者》都是我很喜愛的作品及很尊敬的創作者。」更透露像是家裡佈置、陳列的東西有些較為大膽前衛,和自身創作的風格有些落差,讓大眾認識不同面貌的她。

持續的創作令人開心的作品「其實年輕的時候,我的畫並不是特別的出色優秀,因為以前就讀設計學校,所以周圍有更多比我優秀的同學,但是我還是持續的創作,同時也因為有很多人的幫忙,才能成為現在的我。所以只要時間許可,就持續下去吧!」這是カナヘイ想提供給創作新手的建議,唯有努力才能使夢想離你更近。關於未來,カナヘイ之後將會創作 LINE 的主題,讓大眾可以無時無刻感受〈卡娜赫拉的小動物〉的療癒魅力,此外日本已播出以殭屍貓為

角色授權的經營學近年來因社群網路與行動裝置的興起,資訊傳遞的內容多以標籤化的形式,將增添情境與風格傳遞予大眾,進而造就創意經濟的另一波風潮。本期文博會邀請到基礎創意科技股份有限公司創意總監張嘉倫,和大眾談談角色創意的趨勢脈動。

品牌方向,定義未來市場「品牌化的意識抬頭之後,臺灣廠商對於品牌資產的累積與活用的觀念與投入仍然非常缺乏,我們常常發覺許多好的品牌資產被擱置或者低估了。」針對現今市場的觀察,張嘉倫這麼說著,並認為應該統一品牌的調性、將品牌價值地清楚地傳達給消費者才能確立市場方向。此外,張嘉倫也提到「創意授權應逐步擺脫仲介經紀的思維,授權的操作只是手段,版權所有者或品牌主更需要擁有策展人思維的製作人來協助資源整合,來達成跨領域或跨平台的產品方案。」而基礎創意目前正嘗試建構此型態之經紀模式,期望為市場規模較小的獨立創作品牌創造新興的市場優勢。

The Creative Expo this year has invited the Creative Director of Phalanx Creative & Design Co., Ltd. Chang Chia-Lun to share with us the trend and momentum of character creativity.

As Long as Time Permits, Keep Drawing.LINE, a communication app that has tens of millions of users worldwide, has changed the way people communicate. The frequent use of various stickers not only shortens the distance between people, but also brings those imaginary characters to life. Kanahei's small Animals are two of the most popular characters due to their warmth and cuteness. The vivid and funny facial expressions of the two animals can always convey users' emotions properly. Recently, they have become the products of FamilyMart's reward points collection campaign and will even be displayed in this year's Creative Expo Taiwan.

Create Childlike Characters from Daily InspirationAs a graphic and manga artist, Kanahei has started drawing since senior high. The roles she creates often feature gentle, pastel colors along with smooth, exquisite lines. Till now, Kanahei has launched 14 different versions of Small Animals stickers. When it came to the source of her inspiration, Kanahei said with a smile, "I get a lot of ideas after I have a child. My child often giggles, looks lovely or goofy, and does something silly. These things inspire me a lot." Children's emotions bring her infinite inspiration and help people express their moods as well.

The Artist's Real Life Other than Drawing.Kanahei plays three roles—a wife, an artist, and a mother—at the same time. How could she take care of those? "In fact, I don't intend to divide my time into three sections; instead, I get into the roles I am playing naturally. Of course, I have to appreciate the people around me. They make me work without worries." Japan is hailed as the kingdom of mangas by which Kanahei is deeply influenced. Kanahei also mentioned, "I often read comic books when I was little. Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Eiichiro Oda's ONE PIECE, and Masashi Kishimoto's NARUTO are all my favorite authors and works." At last, she even showed her different aspect by revealing that some arrangement and decoration in her house are bold and progressive, and that is entirely distinct from her drawing style.

Keep Drawing What Makes People Happy"To be honest, my drawings were not that notable in my youth. Because I attended a design school, there were a lot of classmates who drew better than I. However, I still kept drawing and fortunately got many helping hands at that time before becoming what I am now. So, as long as time permits, do not quit." This is the suggestion Kanahei would like to give to novices. That is, only with great efforts can one get closer to his/her dream. As to the future, Kanahei will create themes on LINE app. People will be able to experience the loveliness of Kanahei's Small Animals at all time. Moreover, the short animation featuring "Zombie Cat" has been broadcast in Japan, eliminating people's terrible impressions on zombies. Also the theme café of Kanahei's Small Animals will be inaugurated in Tokyo, and it is what their fans can never miss!

The Brand's Direction Defines the Future Market"After the rise of branding awareness, Taiwanese companies still lack of the idea about the accumulation and utilization of brand assets, and have done little efforts accordingly. We often see that many good brand assets have been set aside or underestimated." Chang Chia-Lun expressed his opinions towards his observation of today's market. He also said that the brand tonality shall be unified and the brand values shall be delivered to consumers explicitly in order to confirm the direction of the market. Besides, Chang Chia-Lun also mentioned "Creative licensing shall gradually get rid of the thinking of agency. Licensing is only a mean, whereas the copyright or band owner shall have a producer with curator-like thinking to assist resource integration in order to provide a cross-domain or cross-platform product solution." Phalanx Creative is now trying to build an agency pattern like this with an expectation to create market advantages for independent and smaller creative brands.

Confirming the Style as the First Step to Create the CharacterThe character styles in the market are quite variant as well as the target group. How shall one set the character? Chang Chia-Lun expressed "Building a style is the most important work. Surely the painting style may be judged based on the first impression. However, from a long-term perspective, understanding the primary target that the character shall communicate with and to establish a cultural recognition accordingly is the foundation for future evolution."In the meantime, he also shared with us that works featured with simplicity and dynamic images tended to attract his more. On the other hand, the development of every character may be challenged by recession and it is a problem that every operator shall confront with. Chang Chia-Lun believes that, "Setting up the system of character branding and trying to mix the new and old characters can fresh up the audience. After all, branding requires long-term efforts and one single character also requires new cultural element to segment the market. We shall therefore try to conduct systematic and modular classification and arrangement on creation elements." His idea is to provide creators necessary suggestions from the perspectives of a producer and further create a new life for characters. In the future, Phalanx Creative will prepare character arts relevant exhibition and launch APP themed on character arts to provide the first-hand information provided by original creators. It is something that fans of character arts shall pay close attention!

TOKYO INTERNATIONAL Gift ShowEstablished in 1976, TOKYO INTERNATIONAL Gift Show is Japan's biggest international Commercial Grocery Goods Exhibition with forty years of history. The Exhibition is held twice a year, participated by over 2,500 exhibitors including domestic grocery and select stores each time, and visited by over 200,000 buyers and media. The Exhibition has planned a special area for ACTIVE CREATORS Gift Show that provides independent brand creators to carry out commercial talking and promotions of distribution channels, whereas Creative Expo Taiwan will exhibit the elaborate products of the renowned team "CEMENT PRODUCE DESIGN" of that Area, life groceries brought by Kyoto Craftsmen Studio, and mobile accessories featured with grass-like texture (including brands like Shibaful). 金蕾蕾刺繡工作室金蕾蕾刺繡工作室之創作者金蕾蕾為國家級非物質文化遺產(南通仿真繡)傳承人、江蘇省工藝美術大師、研究員級高級工藝美術師。金蕾蕾擅長各類繡種,能畫善設計,作品多次榮獲《全國工藝美術百花獎》、《省、部級獎》。擔任堪稱世界之最的彩錦壁畫《長城萬里圖》(張仃繪)的工藝設計,更應邀為香港回歸繡製大型彩錦壁畫《華夏大地日月同輝》,多幅作品被南京博物院、輕工部及國內外收藏家珍藏。

Jin Lei Lei Embroidery WorkshopThe Creator of Jin Lei Lei Embroidery Workshop Jin Lei Lei is the inheritor of National Intangible Cultural Heritage (Nantong Emulational Embroidery), master of craft arts of Jiangsu Province, and senior (researcher level) craft artist. Jin Lei Lei is specialized in all types of embroideries and is talented in drawing and design. She also received a number of awards including "National Craft Arts Baihua (Hundred Flowers) Award", "Provincial Award" and "Department Award". She was responsible for the craft design for the world record mural of color brocades "The Great Wall" (painted by Zhang Ding), was invited to create the embroider the large-size mural of color brocades "The Splendid Sun and Moon of the Land of Huaxia" for Hong Kong Reunification, and had a number of works collected by Nanjing Museum, Ministry of Light Industry and domestic and foreign collectors.

專訪 2016 臺灣文博會國際策展人—Morten Grøn本年度文創最大盛典臺灣文博會將於四月開展,身為國際策展人之一的Morten Grøn,是丹麥推廣設計展與論壇的首席機構 Design Denmark 的CEO。訪談中,他分享了生活在設計中卻渾然不自覺的丹麥設計師思維、當前年輕丹麥設計師的創作趨勢,以及希望帶來給臺灣民眾的丹麥策展觀點!

臺灣文博會的丹麥策展思維「丹麥擁有寶貴的設計文化資產,對丹麥人來說,有時我們甚至忘了自己就活在設計當中,設計就是我們的生活。」Morten Grøn 指出,「透過展前訪台的考察之行,我希望規劃臺灣人也能有感覺的展覽,就和丹麥的設計哲學一樣,我們要共同創造(co-create),與其悶著頭默默地做,我們會跟合作對象一起腦力激盪,共同解決問題。」2016 的臺灣文博會中,Design Denmark 除了展出一般人熟悉的經典丹麥設計品,也著重在介紹新銳丹麥設計師的作品。「我希望能在兩者間取得平衡,展現丹麥設計的多元性,而介紹年輕設計師的作品,除了能看見他們如何站在前輩設計大師的肩膀上,透過設計解決當前或未來生活中可能面臨的各種問題,也藉此讓大家瞭解丹麥設計在全球設計所扮演的角色。」Morten Grøn 說。

年輕丹麥設計師關心些什麼?「如果你問年輕丹麥設計師關心的是什麼,他們不會想再設計一個杯子或一張沙發,他們會想設計能解決『問題』的產品。那不見得是什麼了不起的大問題,可以是很不起眼的小問題,例如,幫有行動障礙的老年人設計輔助行走的工具,他們又能用的有尊嚴。」Morten Grøn 認為「尊嚴」這兩個字至關緊要,對於丹麥設計人來說,與其設計一個沒有人會想用的垃圾,為什麼不做一個很吸引人,人們會想要使用又能用得開心,用得有尊嚴的好產品?丹麥設計的核心在於瞭解所處的環境,設計能解決生活中的各種問題的有用產品。每個時代都有要面對的問題,而設計就是回應這些問題的答案。

丹麥設計的未來發展1940 至 50 年代的丹麥家具設計,因為勇於嘗試各種新材質,試圖解決生活中的需求,在全球設計大放異彩,今日丹麥設計人的思考也是一樣。「過去幾年我們流行討論各種設計範疇,無論那是策略設計、服務設計、家具設計、產品設計等,但今日不同設計的界線將不再那麼關鍵,重要的是該如何整合不同的設計範疇,結合美學與工藝,兼顧造型與機能,做出深度的能解決問題的全新設計。」Morten Grøn 語重心長的說。

An Interview of Morten Grøn, the International Curator of 2016 Creative Expo TaiwanThe grandest ceremony of the year, Creative Expo Taiwan, will be held in April. As one of the international curators, Morten Grøn is the CEO of Design Denmark, the head institute that promotes design exhibitions and forum in Denmark. In the interview, he shared with us the thinking of Denmark designers who life in design unconsciously, the trend of creations of contemporary young Denmark designers, and Denmark's curating perspectives that he wishes to bring to the audience in Taiwan!

The Danish thinking of curating Creative Expo Taiwan"Denmark possesses precious design culture assets. For Danes, we sometimes even forget that we live in design. Design is our life." Morten Grøn pointed out "Through the trip to Taiwan before the exhibition, I wish to curate an exhibition that is also connected to Taiwanese people. Just like the design philosophy of Denmark, we wish to co-create. Instead of doing things silently by ourselves, we would brainstorm with our partners and solve problems together". At 2016 Creative Expo Taiwan, Design Denmark not only exhibits classic Danish design works that ordinary people are familiar with, but also emphasizes on introducing works created by cutting edge Danish designers. "I wish to reach a balance between these two. That is, to demonstrate the diversity of Danish designs by introducing works of young designers. We will not only see how they stand on shoulders of Masters of Designer in the older generation and solve existing or future problems in life through design, but also understand Denmark's role in the global design industry" said Morten Grøn.

What do young Danish designers care about?"If you ask young Danish designers what they care about, they would not say that they wanted to design a cut or a sofa. They would say that they want to design a product that can solve problems. It does not have to be a big problem. It can be an unobtrusive small problem. For example, a tool that assists mobility impaired elderly people to walk with dignity". Morten Grøn thinks "dignity" is the key word. For Danish designers, instead of designing a trash that interests no one, why not to design an attractive product that people want to use, brings them happiness and dignity? The core of Danish design is to understand the situation and to design a useful product that can solve all types of problems in life. There are problems that we have to face in every era and design is the answer that responds to these problems.

The future development of Danish designFrom the 1940s to 1950s, Danish furniture designs became well-known around the world as the designers were dare to try all kinds of new materials and attempted to provide a solution for demand in life. Today, Danish designers have the same thought. "Over the last couple of years, we used to discuss categories of all types of designs – strategy design, service design, furniture design, product design and so on. Nevertheless, the boundaries of these designs are no longer the keys. The most important thing is how we integrate different design categories, merge aesthetics and craft, plan jointly the modeling and functionality to make a brand new design that to solve problems." said Morten Grøn genuinely.

Morten Grøn現任 Design Denmark 設計貿易協會 CEO。Design Denmark 是由丹麥設計工作者、設計學者、設計相關公司與企業等產學人士所共同組成的獨立設計機構,擁有超過 800 多名專業人士會員,乃目前丹麥最大設計組織,成立宗旨除了推廣設計生活和商務貿易,同時也規劃《丹麥設計獎》、《Northmodern 設計展》等大型設計獎項、展覽與論壇。

Design Denmark is an independent, design association formed by Danish designers, scholars, companies, enterprises and other industrial and academic professionals from the industry. Having over 800 members, it is the biggest design organization in Denmark. Established by the Creative Expo Taiwan held by the Ministry of Culture, "CULTURAL & CREATIVE AWARD" was launched in 2010 to enhance the energy of Taiwan's cultural and creative industry, to promote excellent creative talents and to encourage companies to focus on research and development creativity. Through this competition, nationwide industries have their creativities accumulated to outline a quality of Chinese speakers, making this award one of the greatest honors of Taiwan's cultural and creative industry.

The 6th CULTURAL & CREATIVE AWARD has continued the spirit of this award "the quality life of Chinese-speaking people" and the perspective of "leading Chinese speakers towards a quality lifestyle" of Creative Expo Taiwan after the transformation to enhance the creativity, professional image and influence of this award. The assessment objective is extended to products and services participated in this competition.
