FEAST OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, QUEEN OF POLAND & 228TH ANNIVERSARY - MAY 3 - CONSTITUTION. Mass will be celebrated today, May 5 at 11:30 a.m. in our Church. We welcome the Honorary Consulate, Canadian Polish Congress, Manitoba District; representatives of Polish organizations and Standard Bearers. ACADEMIA will follow in our parish hall immediately following the Mass.
MARIAN CONCERT—AVE MARIA which will be performed by the Sokol Polish Folk Ensemble under the direction of Tadeusz Biernacki will be held in our Church on Sunday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m. The program will entail liturgical music, classical, modern as well as fragments from the Opera by Mascagni—Regina Coeli—“Cavalleria Rusticana”. Everyone is cordially invited to this premiere - free will offerings.
21ST ANNUAL “WALK FOR MARY” will be held on Sunday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Parish (Watt & Munroe). Registration forms are at the entrances to our Church. For info, call 204 669-3666.
ROSE FOR LIFE - Knights of Columbus will be pinning symbolic roses before all Masses on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. Everyone is encouraged to wear these to show your support against abortion and euthanasia. Knights are asking for donations for this cause and would like to mention
that the cost to purchase each rose is $1.00.
PARISH YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. All youth are encouraged to come to these meetings - it’s a great way to meet others, to enrich your faith, and to socialize. Come and see what these meetings are about - plan some events or outings that other youth can attend and become involved in - many opportunities are there - we just need your attendance and participation to make them happen!!
CATECHISTS are needed for the year 2019-2020 to teach religion classes in English on Saturdays. For information, please call our office.
RUMMAGE SALE - Catholic Women’s League are organizing their Annual Rummage Sale to be held on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 in Holy Ghost School gym. They are asking all parishioners for items such as dishes, ornaments, working appliances, toys, etc which may already be dropped off at our parish office. They are unable to accept large appliances, microwaves or computers.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION will be celebrated in our parish today, May 5 during the Mass at 9:15 a.m. This is a very important moment in the lives of our children - the Sacrament of First Holy Communion—a time when they will join our community for the first time at the Table of the Lord. We pray for the 41 Communicants from our parish and school, that their faith and joy increase and that they will be joyful as they are today and keep Jesus as their friend at all times. We encourage all children to participate in May Devotions dressed in their First Communion attire. A special thank you to the Catechists for preparing the children from our parish and school to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, especially Religion Coordinator: Cecilia Kolt; Missionaries of Charity and Barbara Stasiewicz.

MOTHER’S DAY - is celebrated May 12. This is a wonderful opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to our dear mothers for the many things they have done for us, to pray for them and for those who have gone to their eternal rest. Their unconditional love, attention, forgiveness and
guidance have made us who we are today. May God forever fill their lives with blessings, health, love and happiness. May our Holy Mother keep all mothers under her protection, guidance and care in their daily lives.

Those who donated items for their Easter and Silent Auction Tables Knights of Columbus for the flowers for Mother’s Day. Joe Wierzibicki and all those who helped in transporting and erecting
the Cross in our Church: Tom Malkiewicz, Kazimierz Malkiewicz, Krzysztof Staroscik and Wes Karmelita. This was a huge undertaking and we are grateful to them for all their volunteer work in this project.

PARISH RADIO MASS has been broadcast for many years on CKJS 810 AM Radio. Each month we must pay $1,333 which is $16,000 annually. It is very important to keep this program on the air which benefits the sick, elderly and those unable to participate at our Eucharistic Celebrations. Good Shepherd Sunday is celebrated around the world on the Fourth Sunday of Easter. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who is our strength, our protection and our salvation. He knows each one of us and we know his voice. To follow Him is to know eternal life. Today is also the World Day of Prayer for Vocations when Christians are invited to reflect on the meaning of God’s call and to pray for vocations. Christ, the Good Shepherd, continues to lead his people through His Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, and calls many to follow Him in this way. Vocations should be a constant concern in the hearts of God’s people.
