I can’t believe that February is here already! With no time to dilly-dally, if you are considering a move, spring is a key time to sell your property when traditionally demand outstrips supply and therefore prices are usually at their most buoyant.

With the General Election pending and the media’s woes about the market cooling over the past few weeks, as a result of both a typical seasonal slow-down, The Bank of England directive and the MMR’s coordinated effort to slow down the market, you would be forgiven for hesitating…

But don’t let this deter you from getting on early and proudly standing out as our property of the week!

Why? You may be thinking? What does Emma know that contradicts the newspapers?

This first month of the year has kicked off swimmingly, the Thames Ditton market is sitting prettily in its own special market

bubble and we are still experiencing high levels of buyers and low stock, which is keeping prices buoyant.

Don’t necessarily go for the agent with the highest valuation, or the one that you may also buy through - this is an old trick used to win instructions. Many agents will also often try to tie you into a long, exclusive contract but when managing one of your most valuable assets, you want someone you can relate to personally; someone who is very active in the local market; and someone who is keen to sell your property and has fair agreement.

I believe that we are that agent.

HJC have never imposed a lock-in contract because we will do everything we said we would do from the outset to the completion. I will give you 100%, as will my team.

We are the Rightmove number 1 agent in Thames Ditton for a reason.

We have a reputation. Not for overvaluing, or being easy to haggle with, but for getting the job done and for at all times acting in our client’s best interest which means first and foremost ensuring we achieve the best possible price from a carefully qualified buyer.

Diary of an Estate Agent, Emma Wescombe.
