+WTW Typical Week Monday: Teacher demonstrates sort, students cut/sort, write words in

journals and reflects on how the words are alike. Homework: Sort words into the categories learned in class. Give reasons

for your sort.

Tuesday: Independent Sort/Speed Sort & Blind Sort with a partner Homework: Do a “Buddy Sort” with a parent or sibling.

Wednesday: With a buddy, search in books for new words that fit your sort and write them in your journal (Word Hunt) Homework: Hunt for 2-3 new words for each word category and copy

them into your journal.

Thursday: With a buddy, find synonyms/antonyms for the word sort words. Homework: Study for the word sort quiz.

Friday: Word Sort Quiz

Students will have spelling activities and math homework Monday through Thursday.

Reading will be assigned on Monday and due on Friday.
