Social media is not a silver bullet!

Only you know your own strategy

•  Who are you trying to reach?

•  What are you trying to accomplish?

•  How will you know if it’s working?

Social media + content marketing

Content marketing helps you answer the question: WHAT am I going to SAY on my social media accounts?

Content marketing defined

•  Creating and publishing relevant, valuable content that attracts and engages a clearly defined audience.

•  Must have an objective.

•  Not sales-y material.

Content marketing is NOT about YOU.

•  Use social networks to expand your reach

•  Build relationships with influencers

•  Expand your connections, online and off

Tips for better blogging

•  Keep it short; use lists and subheads

•  Always be relevant!

•  Include hashtags in content

•  Offer email and RSS subscriptions to your blog

•  Always add “sharing” buttons to your content

•  Schedule tweets and other content (Be careful about over-automating); publish on Paper.li

•  Engage with others, possibly during quick breaks

•  Evaluate what you’re doing on a regular basis
