Michigans economy is reinventing itself to meet 21st century demands
and attitudes. New industries, expanded manufacturing capabilities,
and an invigorated sense of community commitment are driving
significant job growth and capital investment.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporations (MEDC) Michigan
Business Development Program (MBDP) plays a crucial role in the states
economic reinvention by providing grants, loans or other assistance to
businesses for highly competitive Michigan projects. This initiative is
transforming Michigan communities through commercial development
that would otherwise not occur or be lost to competitors.
The following success stories highlight the breadth and depth of
MBDP projects. Each is a snapshot of the programs influence on the
project and local impact, and taken as a whole, illustrates the strong role
MBDP is playing in Michigans economic resurgence.
MEDCs Business Development Program is changing the way businesses
do business in Michigan.

management skills. Entrepreneurs and small business
owners rely on MI-SBDC to provide no-cost business
counseling, low-cost business workshops and market
research. www.sbdcmichigan.org
GROW YOUR BUSINESSMEDC helps Michigan companies find domestic and
international buyers with immediate needs for their
expertise and products, providing near term business
growth. Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) helps
Michigan companies find buyers through matchmaking
