The diversity in BCSC is as-tounding and all the stu-dents are treated equally. We are all unique; our rac-es, our personalities and our abilities. BCSC values the way the students learn and the way the teachers teach. The learning styles are different, and there isn’t one teacher, or one student that is exactly the same in their learning or teaching in BCSC. The stu-dents are guaranteed to be able to learn, no matter how they learn, what their race, disabilities or any-thing else that makes them different. Freshman Mary Fields

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

WORKSBrown University was my top choice when I was applying to colleges, and I knew it would be extremely challenging to fulfill my dream of getting accepted. However, using the resources that Columbus North provid-ed me with, I will be able to at-tend my dream school next fall. Through my four years at North, I’ve taken nine AP classes, par-ticipated in band, jazz band,

and orchestra, and had room in my schedule to take numerous other classes, like Personal Finance and Anatomy & Physiology. My well-rounded education was a large factor in my acceptance to Brown University because colleges are looking for students who show diversity and intel-lectual curiosity.Senior Elizabeth Pan

BAND

I’ve made innumerable friends and have become a better mu-sician and performer than I ever thought I could be. We have sev-eral instrumental music groups that perform year round. Prac-tices can be long and hard, but being with a great group of stu-dents who are willing to work as hard as you makes it all worth it. We also have great directors who we would not be able to accom-plish anything without. We work hard, but the payoff is great. Our marching band attends several invitationals each season as well as participates in BOA and ISSMA competitions. Sophomore Haley Mack

EXTRA CURRICULAR

WORKS.

BANDOne of the most rewarding things about my high school experience has been the band program at Co-lumbus North. It is one of the best music programs in the state of In-diana for marching band, concert band, and jazz band. It has al-lowed me to flourish as a musician and as a leader. For me, the band program at North helped me devel-op maturity and leadership skills, both of which colleges are deeply interested in. Senior Elizabeth Pan

Columbus North had more gold medalists at the district ISSMA com-petition than all other school com-bined.

The multiple pathways in BCSC are outstanding, they have C4 classes, and the global pathways at Northside. The C4 classes help students prepare to enter their careers after they gradu-ate from highschool. They teach you how to do that type of work, they give tests, they make sure you know everything about it, for when you go to college, and you can get a better education, and a better degree. C4 class-es are a privilege and not a lot of students get the opportunity to do them in High School but if you are lucky enough to, you

are already ahead of a lot of the students that graduate the same year as you. Global Pathways is an opportunity that gets you start-ed for things like the C4 classes but Global Pathways is started in Middle School and it is offered to anyone that wants to be apart of it. Global Pathways may be a little bit more challenging but if you want to be ahead in the long run, you will work hard in your education. “Global pathways is learning about diversity in the early years of schooling.Freshman Ashley Sowerby

MULTIPLE PATHWAYS

WORK.

Student voice is always used throughout the BCSC schools because the student input is what matters the most. Most of the schools in BCSC, especially the CSA schools are all based off of students and the stu-dents get to decide what kind of environment they learn in and how they learn. There are always going to be boundaries with how the students want to learn but they basically let the teachers know what they think is best for them and the teachers decide from there.

STUDENT VOICE

WORKS.

STUDENT INPUT I feel like my teachers actively listen and ask ques-tions about what I have to say everytime that I speak. The teachers evolve and work around what I have to say and actually take what I say into consid-

eration when they are making decisions about the classroom. Freshman Michael Dobsons

BCSC students and teachers are active in the community. Almost all of the projects that are done at CSA use commu-nity partners, or have com-munity partners come in and perfect and give feedback on projects and presentations. Projects that involve going out into Columbus and getting involved in what is going on around town and trying to help make Columbus a better city. Many students do community service also. All high school seniors are required to do a senior project, and they have to have a community mentor.
