ECM offers a tailor-made course for partner organizations outside Europe such as convention bureaux, hotels, PCOs, DMCs, airlines, conference venues, congress centres, convention centres, exhibi-tion centres, and governmental bodies looking towards to a glo-bal promotion of the Meetings Industry. The ECM Academy provides great insight into the structure and functioning of the Meetings Industry. It sets the background and context to this most lucrative sector of tourism, illustrating its subject with up-to-date and cutting edge examples of European best practice. It is perfect for those just starting out in the sec-tor and quickly wanting to get up to speed, and for those who are exploring its potential as a tool of commercial and economic development.

European Cities Marketing is exporting the ECM Summer School concept to emerging destinations in non-European continents/regions like Asia, Africa, South America or the Gulf. The programme aims at leading the students towards practical and hands on education with relevant real cases studies and prac-tical situations. It is a highly successful concept; young people get acquainted with the fundamentals of our industry with a practical training approach developing concentration, teambuil-ding, interaction in a full immersion course. The residential full immersion course is in English. The course lasts four days in adequate spacious and modern meeting facili-ties allowing a real interactive education. Professional credits for the CMP programme are granted to the participants.

5 | ECM SUMMER SCHOOL

The ECM Summer School for 28 years has been an educational landmark in the panorama of the Meetings Industry in Europe.

The ECM Summer School has consistently been the bridge to a successful career in the Meetings Industry. It has graduated 1,500 students - many of whom have gone on to become future lea-ders. Despite new technology and hybrid meetings, the winning formula has remained the same: a unique opportunity for young professionals just entering the Meetings Industry to spend four days with some of the biggest names in our business in an “old-fashioned” school. The Faculty is not made up of academics but experienced professionals with a “tell it as it is” angle based on many years hands-on experience.
