Brunelleschi The Renaissance architecture was quickly spread to

other Italian cities and carried to France, Germany, England and Russia.

Architecture became not only a question of practise, but also a matter for theoretical discussion.

Renaissance science

History has it that Leonardo Da Vinci is the “father of modern science”. He has invented many things like the

Parachute, viola organista, diving suit, and more. Leonardo Da Vinci has many famous quotes too. Like one of his famous ones “A well spent day brings happy sleep”.

Lernardo Da Vinci was one of the smartest scientists during the renaissance period.

The use of gunpowder occurred in this era Guns like the arquebus and the musket were

invented The English long bow and the Swiss pike were

both deadly weapons, but not very many people learned to be a master of the bow because of the difficulty

The armour will usually deflect edged weapons and stop fired weapons (from a distance)

But the flintlock muskets will penetrate and destroy the flesh behind it

The biggest authors during the renaissance

were George Chapman, Miles Cloverdale, john Lyly, and sir Thomas More.

In the early Italian Renaissance, much of the focus was on translating and studying classic works from Latin and Greek.

Many authors attempted to integrate the methods and styles of the ancient Greeks into their own works.

In Italy during the 14th century there was an

explosion of musical activity that corresponded in scope and level of innovation to the activity in the other arts.

By the late 16th century Italy was the musical centre of Europe.

In the 13th century, much of Europe

experienced strong economic growth. The trade routes of the Italian states linked with those of established Mediterranean ports and eventually the Hanseatic league of the Baltic and northern regions of Europe to create a network economy in Europe for the first time since the 4th century.

Economic growth

Page 10: Italy and the Renaissance

The 14th century saw a series of catastrophes

that caused the European economy to go into recession.

The Medieval Warm Period was ending and the Little Ice Age began.

This change in climate saw agricultural output decline a lot, leading to repeated famines, exacerbated by the rapid population growth of the earlier era.
