Juraj Jánošík

Juraj Jánošík was born in 25. January 1688.

He died in 17. March 1713.

He was born in Terchová.

He grew up there too in a family of „Jánošov“.

The legends say that Juro Jánošik lived with his band in woods between Žilina and Liptovký Mikuláš and that he was

caving the wayfarers.

The tradition goes that he used to wear folk costume, long braids, black

hat and special decorated axe (valaška).
