PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

NO CANTEEN on Monday 11th Nov (next week).
Hi everyone,
Stage 3 Excursion
Thank you to Mrs Davis, Mr Davis, Miss Ross and Kerrie for all of their time and organisation for the Stage Three excursion. They are taking 37 Stage 3 students to Canberra for three days and two nights. I know students and teachers are going to have an amazing, action packed time. I’d also like to thank the P&C for subsidising the excursion, with your help it makes the excursion more affordable for families.
Works around school
There are some major projects that are going to be happening across the school over the next few weeks. Today they have started to upgrade some of our electricity switchboards. This means that some blocks are going to go for short periods without electricity this week.
This week they are going to start the process for the roof replacement of all tiled rooves within the school. They will be replacing the roof on the Stage 3/library block, the MPR block, the K/1/2 block and the administration block. They are going to start with the Stage 3/library block by putting up scaffolding and fencing on Thursday. During this time classes will be relocated from their classrooms to other areas of the school whilst they are working on the roof. While they are here there will also be a fenced off compound on the back oval, behind the Stage 3/library block. They are going to be working with us to hopefully make this process as easy as possible for everyone involved.
Celebrating attendance
Thank you to families who contacted to school (either with a phone call or note) to explain absences. Congratulations to 5/6 Pink who had the best attendance last week.

K/1 RED CLASS NEWS
Kalori /4
Term 4 is now well under way and the K/1 Red students have been very active in the classroom. Each Friday the children have been enjoying tennis lessons with Zack. They have participated in simple games and drills to help develop their skills and it seems we have some wonderful tennis stars in the making. Please remember hats and drink bottles each Friday as the weather can be unpredictable.
We have begun typing in the MPR. This is a fantastic room for our class as everyone can be on a computer typing independently at the same time. Students are learning to locate the keys, move the cursor to different parts of the text, to change the size of their writing and above all, they are learning patience!!!
Last Friday all students in K/1/2 participated in the Responsible Pet Program which involved learning the correct way to approach an unfamiliar dog and also the behaviours dogs display when they are happy or anxious. If you get a chance, please discuss this with your child and see if they can remember.
As Kindergarten Orientation has now begun, some class members were very excited to have their siblings visit the school. We look forward to seeing them for the next 3 visits.
Next Monday (11th November), Intensive Swimming will begin for our class and will continue for 10 days. This will be a busy time for us. Please keep an eye out for more information regarding this by way of notes and also Seesaw.
