Term 4 Week 9

The next two weeks are full of events that will celebrate our fabulous year of learning including Presentation Night, Semester 2 reports and Year 6 Farewell. We will also enjoy the Year 6 mini fete and Pool Party/Class Parties, and eat far too many candy canes for our own good!

So that we can all enjoy these end of year festivities, we will be reminding all students of the school values and expectations often. We hope that you will support us so that students can have a happy ending to 2018. It is very easy to get overexcited during all of these additional activities and we don’t want students missing out because of poor behaviour choices.

Parents and Citizens Association Executive Members

Last week, the Annual General Meeting was held in the Multi-purpose room, where we farewelled Cindy Scott (Secretary) and Julie White (Vice President and Canteen Sub Committee co-ordinator) as the primary school chapter closes for their families.

Heidi Weston remains President and Melissa Male continues in the role of Treasurer. We also welcomed Sonja McCallum to the role of Secretary and Debbie Klemke to the role of Vice President in 2019. We also welcome Ben Hooper, Jenny Haines and Emma Quinn to the team!

A big thanks to anyone who has turned up to meetings throughout the year. We have appreciated the ongoing input.

Mental Health Fun Day

Thank you to everyone who made the time to come to school for the Mental Health Fun Day that was preceded by the wonderful finals of ‘Henty’s got Talent’. A huge thanks to the Bendigo Bank for sponsoring the event which included a free sausage sizzle, resources purchased for the day and hiring our Bluearth coach to run a parent workshop. Another huge thanks to the teachers who organised excellent experiences for the students. Please check out the photos throughout this week’s newsletter.

Henty Public School Canteen 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gemma Damschke for her hard work and commitment to the school canteen this year. She has been absolutely wonderful as we have slowly migrated to the new Healthy Canteen menu. Her hard work and dedication has been truly appreciated.

In 2019, Gemma would like to step back from her current role. Therefore, we are looking to the school community and beyond to source another person who may be willing to take it on. If you are interested, please come to the school to have a chat. We would also be interested to hear from you if you could take on the role for a shorter period of time. As part of the end of year survey (see below) we have included some canteen questions. Could you please fill out this survey and return it to the office ASAP?

Thank you so much! Have a great week.
