COST: Ranges from £2 to £8 per 30 minute session (we do have some FREE places)

Musical Instrument Education & Performance Skills
Thetford Music Project (TMP) is a charity founded in 1999 offering children living in and around Thetford the opportunity to learn an instrument or sing and perform with others.
The Project’s success is due in no small part to our dedicated trustees, music director, tutors, parents, children and the support of our sponsors, including Norfolk Music Hub.
“Thetford Music Project has been serving the young people of Thetford for some twenty years. Hundreds of young people have made use of the tuition provided by qualified tutors at a modest cost.
Many parents would not be able to pay for expensive private lessons and that was the main reason for the project’s creation. It has enriched lives and given young people a life skill, some have moved on to be professional teachers and players, even playing in military bands.
Not many towns are lucky enough to have organisations like Thetford Music Project and we are rightfully proud of what has been achieved in providing the service to all young people in Thetford and district.”

Grants and generous donations are essential to ensure that TMP continues to offer musical opportunities at a low price and as part of fund raising efforts, the project runs a 100 club.
Each member is assigned a number and is entered into a draw every two months. The first prize is always £100 – hence the name (100 club), but there are also second and third cash prizes too. A precentage of the profit covers the prizes with the remainder going directly to support the project.
Membership costs just £2 per month and by joining you will be helping to support the work of TMP whilst being in with a chance of winning a cash prize!

Since it began the TMP 100 Club has raised more than £10,000 - an amazing achievement and incredibly important in keeping the project running.

“My son joined TMP when he was about 9 yrs. He’d always fancied trying saxophone and TMP made it financially feasible for him to give it a go. He now plays jazz saxophone and guitar to grade 8 standard and beyond. He is aiming to study jazz at conservatoire in a few years time. We will always be grateful for the opportunity and the positive start he had with TMP.”
