SECTION 1

Gestures, movements, posture, (should be natural and relaxed), CONSISTANT WITH

MESSAGE- appropriate for the audience

During speeches, your body can be a great instrument used for incorporating importance andintelligibility to your words. Gestures, posture, movements and so on should embrace your

sincerity, enthusiasm and should come off as natural and relaxed. On the other hand, if your

body movements and physical communication are distracting, or may suggest meanings and

interpretations that do not directly support your words, it can be a disaster.

Nonverbal messages are used for both control and subliminal communication from you to the

audience.

FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, vocal cues- EMOTIONS

Thumb to forefinger: Im convincing and dominant and you should trust me. I hold my fingers as

if I am playing the worlds smallest violin.

Slightly hunched shoulders and arms holding podium like a walker for support: Im an adorable

older gentleman who genuinely should be trusted. I legit could be Americas grandpa.

Pointing and shouting: Yall racist mother*ckers need God

Hitler, getting too emotional: Straight up psychotic.

Hitler, sweaty, beating on his chest and screaming into the

microphone with bulging eyes: Psychotic, delusional- yet oddly

convincing enough for fascist Germany. Probably wouldntwork in todays society.

When ugly children give speeches: Kim Jong Un speaking as if he has too much

sun in his eye, looking hot and uncomfortable, like an obese child at the county fair

waiting in line for some corn dogs and fried butter.

SECTION 2

Articulating clearly is vital for getting ones idea or message across. Particularly if

someone is speaking using a language that is not their first learned language.

Correct pronunciation of words, speed rate and vocal pitch all can make or break a

good speech. These points give the audience an idea of how well the speakerknows the subject matter. Coming off like one doesnt know anything is always

bad.

Facial expressions convey the most out of all body language. We often can tell

how someone feels based upon looking into their eyes and reading their face.

Whether its sad, happy, angry, earnest, passionate, or even defeated or bored- the

face tells all.

President Obamas face emphasizing fantasy and excitement, while first woman

Michelle, looks on in utter amazement. Hand gestures are also used to stress the

importance of the words being read.
