FEEL AT HOME AT DEAKIN
Staying for T3 summer or want to Extend your move out date?
As your stay on res draws to a close its time to choose your move out date. You can now choose to extend your stay by a few days, weeks, months or whole trimester (all subject to availability). This added flexibility will allow you to stay a few extra weeks before head-ing home for Christmas, even longer if you have secured a local part time job or need to undertake additional units or perhaps this summer you’ve decided you simply want to hang with friends right here on res. With more students living on res than ever before there has never been a better time to extend your stay! To extend your move out date, please contact reception urgently to secure you place as we are filling fast with students and short stay groups.

Are you planning on returning to Residences in 2016?
Applications for current residents to re-apply are now open and will be closing on the 30th of September (no exceptions)
This year we do not have a specific ‘RETURNER’
application. Choose either:
• “2016 Burwood 50 weeks” – a reduced weekly rate with the option to stay an extra 2
weeks for free in February 2017 OR
• “2016 Burwood 36 weeks (sub. avail*)”
Ensure that you tick ‘Returning Residential Student’ in Step 4 of the application to iden-tify you as a current resident. Both Lease options start on 22 February 2016 and as a returner, your choice of lease length will not impact our selection. However, communi-ty contribution, academic results and timely rental payment will be considered.
Remember, there is limited availability so make sure your application is in by 30 September or you have missed your chance to apply to live on cam-pus next year.
Please call reception on 925 17671 or email Burwood Student Residences [email protected] if you have any difficulties.

This week’s recipe
Chicken & Ginger Miso Soup
INGREDIENTS
180g Dried ramen noodles
1L (4 cups) Campbell’s Real Stock Chicken
2 Bunches broccolini, trimmed
6cm Piece ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks
75g (1/4) Red miso paste
380g (2 cups) Barbecue chicken, shredded
200g Enoki mushrooms
2 Green onions, thinly sliced
1 Sheet nori, broken (optional)
METHOD
Step 1 Cook the noodles in a saucepan of boiling water following packet directions.
Drain. Divide among 4 serving bowls.
Step 2
Meanwhile, bring stock to the boil in a saucepan over high heat. Add the broc-
colini and ginger. Cook for 2 minutes or until broccolini is tender crisp. Use
tongs to transfer broccolini to prepared bowls.
Step 3
Place the miso paste in a small heatproof bowl. Add a little of the stock, stir-
ring until miso dissolves.
Step 4
Add the miso mixture to the saucepan and gently stir to combine. Bring to a
simmer. Remove from heat. Add chicken and mushrooms to noodles. Ladle
over miso mixture and sprinkle with shallots and nori, if using.
