The Noise/Guest/Party/Alcohol Free Period will begin at 5pm Friday

29th May and finish at 2pm Friday 19th June. The main priority for

student accommodation is to allow students the best opportunity for aca-

demic success. Part of allowing that is to make sure that residents are in

the best conditions possible to prepare for their exams. During the

Noise/Guest/Party/Alcohol Free Period, the following applies on resi-

dence

No loud noise at anytime of the day

No guests permitted

No open alcohol in communal areas. Communal areas are

any place that is not your own room.

Basketball court open from 2pm – 4pm ONLY

Breaches will incur financial penalties and formal breaches against your

residential record. We thank you for your cooperation during this time to

allow all residents to have an environment conducive to studying.

We will have more information in the following weeks, but please speak

to your RL or a staff member if you have any questions.

There are a number of student services to assist you prepare for exams, re-

member it is never too late to get organised, the Study Skills team provides

face to face appointments as well as online resources to assist you to get pre-

pared.

Like sport, exams require

knowledge, skills, practice and

a positive attitude. Having the

right attitude towards your

study is very important; your

goal is to perform at your peak

on exam day. Being well pre-

pared boosts your confidence.

To pass exams students need to:

know the subject

revise

prepare for the exam format

follow exam instructions

use time-management strategies during the exam.

How do you approach exams?

Positive thoughts help.

Some anxiety is to be expected ... a little bit is a good thing.

Perspective... is it really the end of the world?

Visualisation ... picture yourself confidently answering exam questions.

We will have Resi Cold Rock on Wednesday 3rd and 10th June

in the MB Rec Room. If you’ve been hitting the books all day

and need a good excuse for a study break, bring your own

bowl and spoon down to the MB Rec Room at 7:30pm on the

3rd and 10th June to help yourself to Resi Cold Rock.

We might even see the introduction of the Chocolate fountain

and fruit platter as well!

Mug Brownie

Ingredients

4 table spoons of flour

4 table spoons of sugar

2 table spoons of cocoa powder

1 egg

3 table spoons of milk

3 table spoons of oil

1 mug

Method

Mix the cocoa, flour and sugar ( with a knife is best) then add the egg, milk and oil and keep mixing. Put the mix in the mug, in the microwave for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes. Spoon out and enjoy!
