Week 8 Your official bulletin for all the latest resi news and events info!

The end of Trimester 1 is fast approaching!

For those of you who are only staying with us for this trimester,

can you please advise us of your specific day and time of

want to make it easy for you.

So… you can live on Res in T3 without being enrolled in

any subjects and if it’s your 3rd successive trimester at Res,

Keeping Res Clean

Remember to keep your kitchen benches and floors clear from clutter at all times.

This ensures the cleaners are able to wipe down surfaces and mop the floors as easily as possible.

It is also your responsibility to empty rubbish and

recyling into the shoots (MB) or larger bins (BSV) when

they are getting too full. Please do not wait for the

cleaners to empty your bins if they are filling up.

Please also clean up in any common areas such as the

recreation rooms when you are finished using them.

This ensures that you and your fellow residents can live

in a hygenic and clean environment.

In the event that damage is done to res property, it is

essential for the responsible individuals to come

forward. Accidents do happen and resi reception

greatly appreciates honesty and taking responsibility for actions in such instances.

Please be aware and adhere to the resi guest policy.

The full details of the policy can be found in the Residences Handbook:

http://www.deakin.edu.au/studentlife/residences/resources/handbook14.pdf

A visitor is defined as a person who is meeting with a resident for a short

period of time, while a guest is defined as a person who is staying

overnight with a resident.

Any non-resident who is present without a guest pass after noise curfew

will be required to leave the residences, and the resident responsible for

that visitor may incur a $50.00 charge.

The University reserves the right to charge an amenity fee to anyone staying more than three nights

in a 7-day period.

A guest must be accommodated in the host resident’s room, and not the lounge room or other

common area.

Residents need to organise a dated guest pass from resi reception. The guest is required to carry the

pass with them at all times.

The host resident is responsible for the behaviour and conduct of their guests. The host is also

responsible for informing the other people in their unit that they have a guest staying overnight.

Cooking spray

3 medium zucchini, roughly chopped

250g cherry tomatoes

1 small brown onion, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

2 cups arborio rice

1/3 cup lemon juice

1/3 cup shredded fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese

rice. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add lemon juice. Bring to the boil.

4. Reduce heat to low. Add 1 ladle of stock mixture to rice. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until
