PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hello everyone,

If you were not at the May club meeting, you missed an interesting hour. My wife said I lost control of the meeting, but I say the conversation was carefully guided by the president. Any-way, we were discussing some final de-tails about the upcoming car show, when Rick McClure said he wouldn't be able to be in charge of parking cars. However, his son Nicklas will fill in for him. Rick remem-bered starting the same way, helping his dad at our car show many years ago. Then John Kaiser said, even though this year's car show is the 42nd, there was an earlier one ,43 years ago, just to try it. I heard a lot of in-teresting history, things I didn't know.

This year's car show is on June 1st. We could use everybody's help.

See you soon, Jan

The Wellness and Condolences position is now being shared by Jackie Sheerer

and Jack Swaney. Jackie will send get-well cards from the club to hospitalized

members, and Jack will send floral arrangements or fruit baskets for funerals.

BREAKING NEWS The Memorial Day Parade in

Aspinwall is Monday, May

26. Have your car on Com-

mercial Ave. by 10:00 am.

After the Pledge of Allegiance, President Jan Smith asked if there were any additions or cor-

rections to the minutes of the April 2014 meeting. There were none. Jennie Barker made a

motion to accept the minutes, and Antoinette Quinn seconded. Treasurer Jack Swaney asked

President Jan Smith to read the Treasurer’s Report. After the April expenses, there is a bal-

ance of $5,732.01. Mike Quinn made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, and Steve

Illsley seconded.

Wellness Report Rick Kelley is home from the hospital, and doing better.

Al Fugini has been released from the hospital to a rehab facility.

Tony Viviano passed away.

Ken Brennan Jr, the son of Pat Brennan and the late Ken Brennan Sr. passed away suddenly.

Guests

Bill Ferraro was a guest at the meeting.

Old Business President Jan Smith reported that the Seaton Hill tour and the luncheon tour were very

good. Steve Illsley announced upcoming tours. Please contact him, if you are interested in

attending any of the tours.

Mike Quinn read a thank you note from Cindy Cook.

New Business Don Grauert brought up the issue of having the flyers for the Car Show available earlier

next year. Joe Somerville asked members to arrive at the Car Show by 7 a.m. to

help set up for the show. Members will be parking in the front again

this year. Since Bob McClure will be unable to attend the show, his son Nicholas

will be carrying on the family tradition of parking cars. Club members were asked to volunteer to be sponsors for the show.

There was much discussion to make sure all the responsibilities were

covered for the Car Show. Judges and volunteers for registration are

still needed.

The next meeting will be on June 8, 2014. There being no further business to discuss, Steve Illsley made a motion

to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully submitted,

Bonnie Smith

The $383 Car

It’s a 1949 Cadillac, completely covered with

38,295 pennies! They were affixed one by one

using Silicone. They added over 200 pounds to

the vehicle's weight. The entire project took 6

weeks. The pennies are American, and include

an 1817 "Big Cent", two Error Pennies, and

four 1943 Steel pennies; (but who's counting?).

And, it won't scratch.

Hi North Hills Members

Some family issues have caused me to miss the last couple of meetings so I

haven’t had the early start soliciting judges for 2014.

Anyone wanting to help, please email me at [email protected] or call

me at 724-449-3323 and let me know your first and second choices; I will let

you know if they are already spoken for.

We had a very good judge’s core last year; let’s try to repeat this year.

Tony Viviano

The club mourns the passing of Tony Viviano on

April 25. In addition to his love of antique and classic cars,

Tony was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of

Columbus and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila,

where he was an avid member of their bowling

league. We will miss his smile.
