Aims of the ESD Team
To become a more sustainable school and to ensure we have a positive
impact on the world around us

What have we done?
• Continued to produce a detailed action plan
• Undertaken monthly Energy review• Participated in the Rushmoor Walk to
School programme• Planted a copse with the help of
members of school Council and support from the Woodland Trust

What have we done?
• Started to raise money for the Zambian Porridge Club following an assembly presented by members of the Salesian College Farnborough Sixth Form. The aim is to raise awareness of other children around the world.

• Signed up for Recycle for Hampshire’s recycling challenge. We are currently in 10th position on the leader board

• Updated our eco notice board to keep everyone
informed

• All classes compost fruit snack left overs and Year 2 compost monitors empty these daily – the staff also compost their tea bags!
• We use rechargeable Batteries
• Encourage use of the recycling bins in classrooms

•We encourage children & staff to reduce lighting & heating & close doors where ever possible. Some classes have light monitors
•Y2 Computer Monitors check the ICT suite at the end of each day

What we need to do?
• Ensure ESD is embedded in our planning
• Ensure the School grounds including the pond are used by everyone.
• Continue to involve Rushmoor in our action and travel plans
