– ensured every purchase order was approved, through the introduction of an online approval workflow

– removed huge amounts of paperwork and time-consuming admin and manual reconciliation

– made costs fully visible to management

– created instantly accessible, real-time receipt data for strategic, VAT compliance and audit purposes.

Project objectives:

– improved spend data outputs

– elimination of control and compliance blind spots.

Greater control of spendThere has also been a shift from IBU corporate cards to CBU corporate cards for frequent travellers and executives as a result of the spend management system, giving npower a single view of all UK business spend.

We were looking not only to review our card programme but to create efficiencies in our processes to support organisational changes. The consultative approach from Barclaycard helped us to design a solution to meet our business needs and deliver a card programme, backed by Barclaycard Spend Management, which gives us better visibility and control of our spend.
