From Ms Munro’s Desk

This Thursday marks a point in history for Orana Heights PS as one of our valued teachers starts the journey into her next chapter in life. Mrs Donna Thomas has been at the school for 33 years and during this time taught in a number of roles and had a positive impact on many young lives. Staff and parents will greatly miss the wisdom, kindness and genuine passion for school that Mrs Thomas brings with her each day. We are grateful that Mrs Thomas has been with us, a part of the OHPS team and we wish her many healthy and happy days in the years to come.

In the next month your children may come home telling you stories about some building happening on the school site. The school and your P&C have been working on a joint project to construct a cover over the basketball court. It is anticipated this work will start soon and be completed into Term Three.

Reports will come home with students tomorrow. If you would like to discuss any aspect with the class teacher, please make a mutually convenient time.

Thank you to the families who are continuing to purchase uniform items through Flexischools. Limiting adult access on the school site is still in place until further notice.

School supervision for students takes place between 8.30 am and 3.05 pm. If your child does not catch a bus, or you are not able to pick them up at the end of the school day, please make alternative arrangements. After school care is available on the school site between the morning hours of 6.30 am to 9.00 am and in the afternoon from 3.05 pm to 6.00 pm.

Enjoy the winter holiday time with your children. Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing all the students return on Tuesday 21 July 2020.
