Numeracy Teaching Tips

This week in Numeracy and Maths we are learning how to tell the time. We are focusing on o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter

to. Explore your home and see how many places show you the time. How many clocks, digital displays, devices and watches are there?

Practice reading the time, perhaps make a point of telling the time each time you sit down for a meal.

Below are some teaching tips that might help you. Remember to try to do 20 minutes of Sumdog every day and keep practising telling

the time.

Please make sure you keep an eye on the daily blog posts www.carrickknoweprimary.com as I will be posting further details of some

learning activities on there. Remember, you do not need to do all of the activities on the blog post (or do them on the day that they are

posted) but they are part of our learning about the wider world. There are also many other website and links for all areas of the

curriculum on our ‘Useful Resources’ page on the website – just visit www.carrickknoweprimary.com/usefulresources.

Please send me photos of your learning to my email address: [email protected] or ask an adult to upload them

to the ‘Home Achievements’ section of your Learning Journals profile.

I hope that you have a great week.
