It’s time again for 2020 Giving Envelopes. Starting on

December 15, 2019 you may stop by the table in the

Narthex both before and after Church to pick up your

envelopes for 2020. You will have the same number as

in the past years, so please remember, only one individu-

al from your family stop and pick them up. You do not

have to be a member to get envelopes, especially if you

need the Church to track your giving for tax purposes.

We will be in the lobby until the end of January, after which time you will need to stop by the office to get them. RE-

MEMBER: From December 15, 2019 until January 31, 2020 you will only be able to get your envelopes prior to or

after Church. They will not be available during this time at the office. Also, if you are now having an automatic

check mailed to the office, you will not need envelopes this next year. We are able to track them and will give you a

different envelope number for the purpose. Any miscellaneous donations to ministries may be done on a pew enve-

lope making sure you put your name on that envelope. Thank you for all your loyal support over the years!

Nancy’s Notes by Nancy Hitt, Church Administrator

MESSAGE FROM THE CHILDREN'S HOME

The Holidays can be very traumatic for our kiddos in the United Methodist Children's Home. This could be the very first time that they have been away from family during this time of year. Show your love and support for these vulnerable children by sending them a Christmas card. I will be col-lecting cards in the Church lobby until December 8th. If you need a card to

sign, I will have extras at the Children's Home table. I will also be sending the Children's Home Walmart gift cards so that the staff can go shopping for the children. The funds for these cards will come from the coins that you are putting in the jars at all entrances to the Sanctuary. Please remember to dig deep in your piggy bank so that we can make this Christmas a very special one for children.

Blessings, Fran Scerbo

Orders due no later than Sunday, December 15th.

Christmas is just around the corner and it is time for us to think about giving a poinsettia plant in memory or honor of a family or friends The cost per plant is $12.00. The cost is reduced by $2.00 which was a credit received from the florist for the Easter flowers. This is a one-time credit toward the poinsettias.

Envelopes may be found at the doors in the Worship Cen-ter or at the Church office. This is a beautiful way to re-member or honor our loved ones. Please place your or-der now so you don’t miss the deadline! Thank you for adding to the beauty of Christmas.

When I was at the CARES Senior Health Clinic I heard a wonderful story of “passing a blessing forward.” There is a patient at the clinic who needed a biopsy in order to proceed with treatment for a suspected cancer that was found by a volunteer doctor at the clinic. The patient was unable to have the biopsy because she could not afford it. Another patient and family member overheard this story and made a significant donation making it possible for the cancer patient to have the biopsy done. This spe-cial donor also said he would take flyers to advertise an important clinic fund raiser

The CARES Health and Wellness Expo to his church. When asked, he said his church was Hudson First UMC. We have some very special, giving people in our midst.

Beginning December 1st, please stop by the Gingerbread Tree in the Church lobby and pick a Gingerbread man with a child’s name from Hudson Elementary School. Take the top copy with you, fill out the back copy with your name and telephone and leave the back copy in the basket.

Buy a gift and return the wrapped gift with the ginger-bread man attached no later than December 15th and place it under the tree in the Church lobby or return it the Church office.

REMINDER! If you are currently doing your contri-

bution through VANCO, remember I will still need a

Pledge Card for 2020 letting me know if you are

“staying the same as 2019” or “make the follow-

ing changes.” I need this information prior to end

of year so the any changes can be made to VANCO

prior to the first pull in January, 2020.
