Boot Camp: Improve your flexibility, cardio-respiratory conditioning and strength for 1.5 hours every Saturday with Mondale. This extreme circuit class involves 300lb tires, calisthenics routines, group runs and more to get your body in shape and keep it that way! Be prepared to be outside. Register for the entire session at the front desk or register for each class prior to taking it.

TRX Small Group Training: The TRX suspension trainer leverages your own body weight against gravity to provide an effective total body workout out. It works all core all the time while increasing muscle endurance. This class merges the progressive workout format and skill development of Personal Training with the camaraderie you get from Group Exercise! Your small group will meet with a certified Personal Trainer for a one hour full-body, hard-hitting, functional workout, that combines aspects of athletic conditioning, agility development and strength training.

Personal Training Sessions: Whether your goal is to lose weight, build muscle, strengthen your core or improve your golf game, the Lake View Y has the right trainer for you! All trainers hold a variety of national certifications and are diverse in their educational backgrounds. Your trainer will serve as your source of knowledge and motivation as you push towards your personal goals. Personal Training sessions are sold by single sessions, and in 5 and 10 packs.

Pilates Reformer Sessions: Similar to personal training, private Pilates Reformer training sessions are available by appointment and are the perfect way to personalize your workouts and maximize your results! Our instructor will tailor your sessions based on your individual goals and needs. Private sessions take place in our Pilates Reformer studio using the Reformer machine and various equipment. Pilates Reformer sessions are sold by single sessions, and in 5 and 10 packs.

With regular Pilates Reformer workouts you can expect to:

• Improve strength, flexibility, balance, joint range of motion and circulation

• Tone and build long, lean muscles without bulk

• Challenge the deep abdominal muscles to support the core and back

• Restore postural alignment

• Engage the mind, heighten neuromuscular coordination and enhance body awareness

• Condition efficient patterns of movement making the body less prone to injury

• Reduce stress, relieve tension, boost energy

• Promote recovery from a strain or injury

• Correct over-training of muscle groups that can lead to stress and injury

• Compliment sports training and develop functional fitness for daily activities

• Improve the way your body looks and feels

Pilates Reformer Group Classes are offered 6 days a week at the Lake View YMCA! Classes run with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 4 participants. Classes are designed for all ranges of experience; however beginners should take the level 1 class first. Level 2 & 3 classes require instructor approval. One Prenatal class offered each week.

Pilates Reformer Level 1: This group class is for total beginners! Experience a full body workout on the Pilates Reformer. The Reformer provides varying degrees of resistance and stability to make your workout more challenging than a mat class. Pilates Reformer exercises promote length, strength, flexibility and balance. This class is offered Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Pilates Reformer Level 2 & 3: This group class is designed for intermediate level practitioners with knowledge of both their own body mechanics and the Reformer machine. Register for this class after participating in Level 1 classes or gaining instructor approval.

Pilates Reformer Level 4: This group class is for the more experienced and advanced practitioners. Challenge yourself more as focus on technique, precision and form to fine tune your body awareness, increase your strength, gain lean muscle, restore postural alignment and more.

Pilates Reformer Prenatal: This group class is offered on Wednesday evenings only. The Pilates Reformer is well known for its versatility. Exercises can be performed laying down, sitting, standing, sideways, perched on the shoulder blocks or footbar and more. Its versatility allows the instructor to individualize the exercises for each participant, which makes this class ideal for pregnant practitioners.

AquaticsAdult Stroke Development: This is for swimmers age 16+ who are comfortable in the water and know the fundamentals of swimming (breathing, kicking, floating). Swimmers should be able to swim two lengths of the lap pool and tread water for 1 minute. The class will focus on strengthening the front crawl and back crawl, with additional work on sidestroke and breaststroke. This class is great for those looking to do a triathlon or improve stroke efficiency but are in need of a little extra guidance.

Adult Swim Instruction: This is for individuals age 16+ who have either not had formal swim lessons, are not comfortable in the water, hold some fear of swimming or know very little swimming technique. The class will focus on water adjustment and the basic fundamentals of breathing, kicking, floating and timing.
